Mix | Tchami – Diplo & Friends

I like Tchami. I think he’s a force to be reckoned with and a serious breathe of fresh air for the dance community. Many don’t know that’s been producing for a while, and has co-production credits (along with DJ Snake) on “Turn Down For What” and Lady Gaga’s “Do What You Want” record. That’s no joke kids. You don’t produce those records without serious connections and proven production prowess.

I pump Tchami’s tires to say this: I wasn’t a big fan of this mix. My expectations are so high for this guy that it just didn’t live up to what I expected given his previous mixes, which were all gold. His DAD mix? Gold. His Thump mix? 24 Karat. Social Club in Paris? Cash for Gold. It doesn’t matter what I think. I’ll let our readers decide. Did this mix do it for you?

The Bearded Man has been pushing some of the weirdest, funkiest, ear-catching tuneage out there today. When Saje came to my attention I just couldn’t resist. ‘Lost Tonight’ redefines ‘Chill.’ Combining mellow vocals with an ambiance unfounded, Saje develops a digital dreamscape only accessible to those who want to capture a higher state of mind. The duo has embraced their roots, transporting us to the city of love, Paris, France. We thank them for honouring the scene with this one.

After discovering his remix of MØ’s infectious “Don’t Wanna Dance” and consequently being BLOWN AWAY by it, it’s safe to say I was hooked on the Parisian producer, Zimmer. In addition to his collection of both remixes and originals, the self-proclaimed “horizontal disco and feel good house” artist keeps his 45k Soundcloud fans (and growing) at bay by releasing free monthly mixtapes, like any good artist should. This month’s mixtape, as you might have guessed from the title, has a Mediterranean theme to it, which not only means the selected songs transport you right to the white sandy beaches of Croatia or the Greek Isles, but each track has it’s own connection to the southern European region. Before you do that though, I’ve got another huge remix from the dude Cignature. We first introduced you to him with his remix of Muse “Starlight” and you all were clamoring for more, so here is his remix alongside 17 year old Swedish producer Leeo for Tritonal & Paris Blohm’s smash single “Colors”. I am a huge fan of the original, but they may have gone even bigger and better with this one, keeping the soaring vocals from Sterling Fox and then adding their own anthemic melody to breath new life into the tune. Mix | La Griffe – Les Inseparables

If you pride yourself in being coooool or trendy, or having a unique, underground taste in music then you just need to go ahead and hold your horses because what I’m about to show you about is going to rock your world. Meet La Griffe, a DJ duo comprised of two brothers, one based in France and the other in the Big Apple. Taking into account these guys therefore have two major global music outlets on lock, you can only imagine their exquisite taste and even more exquisite library of jams. This mixtape, which is apparently the 4th Volume of the “L’Amour en Crescendo” Collection, features an assortment of songs, beats, and remixes I quite frankly haven’t heard anywhere else. Don’t be turned away if you feel a little uncertain about the mixtape at first, just take a deep breath and you’ll find yourself grooving before you know it. My recommendation? While getting ready to go out tonight or anytime this long weekend, light some candles, make yourself a cocktail, download this, turn it on and let it take you away.
