Pop | Rico & Miella – ‘Good Girl’

Posted by on February 25, 2020

Dive into summery sounds early with Rico & Miella’s “Good Girl.” The track is out today via Artist Intelligence Agency, a lovely home for the lush sound. Glistening with buoyant vocals, the light-as-air track serves as a sweet, twinkling symphony from the heart. Soft croons carry the track as catchy percussive elements and poignant synths keep time.

“We really wanted to challenge ourselves and step outside of our comfort zone when we started working on ‘Good Girl.’ We’ve always loved writing complex and deeply emotional lyrics, and it can be a challenge to simplify without losing quality. In the end, we think we struck the right balance between catchy, clever, and memorable. On the production side, we just kept pushing the record to fill all of the sonic space until we created a wall of sound that was not only melodic but also equally impactful. Since this was one of only a handful of our solo releases, we really wanted to show off some of our skills in the studio.” Rico & Miella

Bass | JACKNIFE Goes For Blood in “Fear” [via Bladed Black]

Posted by on February 21, 2020

A sonic display of all we know and love from the Aussie artist, JACKNIFE returns for a sinister “Fear.” Combining his bass and G-House efforts, JACKNIFE creates a truly wicked display of technical work.

Music as a career goes far beyond hobby and passion for this young producer. JACKNIFE’s music reflects dedication and commitment through its destructive live delivery. 2019 was a busy year, opening with an EP on The Prescription // Insomniac Records, followed by official remixes for MALAA (“Addiction,” CONFESSION Label) Dirty Audio (“West Coast,” Thrive Music) Matroda, “What Happened?” & ATLIENS, “F*ck That” (BASSRUSH), and singles with DIM MAK and Pinnacle Collective. The chaos really began with MALAA x JACKNIFE present “Revolt,” a mid-tempo house heater that raised hell in the neighborhood. JACKNIFE wrapped up the year with his first Witch Craft package, at the same time launching his own imprint under Pinnacle Music, Bladed Black Records.

Bass | Chime Shares About Loving His Fans, New Music, Music Education & A Sick Exclusive Mix

Posted by on October 31, 2016

Chime is a unique dude in the melodic bass niche. Each release he drops flat out suprises and satisfies you easily – mixing pop elements, great arrangement and themes – with ground stomping dubstep. Firepower Records, NCS Records, Kinphonic, and several more labels have noticed as well, picking up his music and releasing to the masses. In particular, Firepower records is debuting Chime’s first EP – not a bad move for an up-and-comer.

The solo producer took the time out to provide an exclusive mix to FNT as well as an in-depth interview, check out both below.

Progressive House, Videos | Axwell & Ingrosso Tease New Music At Governor’s Ball

Posted by on June 9, 2014

A set for the ages, Axwell & Ingrosso closed out Governor’s Ball last night opposite a much more mellow Vampire Weekend on the main stage. The duo were fully invested in their debut performance as Axwell ? Ingrosso, putting just about every other act to shame with their production, launching streamers, confetti, intense pyro and a full on fireworks display that lasted for a few minutes. They also played 6, yes 6 new tracks and two videos have surfaced on the web for you to get a taste of what is to come. Spoiler alert, I took them. Get a good listen now because these will be big, very big.

Pop | Timeflies Tuesday – All The Way (Acoustic)

Posted by on March 11, 2014

[do action=”youtube” videoid=”vc7z8JWJhTg#t=118″/]

Timeflies latest single gets the acoustic treatment for this weeks edition of TFT.  I’ve gotta say, after removing the heavy production and complementing Cal’s pure vocals with Rez’s string work, the track has a whole new vibe.  No drops, no funky folk, just smooth vocal sailing – I dig it.  If you prefer the beefed up banger version, you can indulge in the original track below.  Album coming soon.  Stay connected, and as always, stay classy.

Hip-Hop, Pop | Chris Rene – Young Homie [Official Release]

Posted by on March 13, 2012

[do action=”youtube” videoid=”v_NW6ypup0I”/]

The name Melanie Amaro still leaves a sour taste in my mouth.  If you aren’t up to date on your competitive singing TV series, Melanie Amaro is the most recent winner of Simon Cowell’s show, The X Factor.  Beating out my boy Chris Rene and singer Josh Krajcik to win a $5 million recording deal with Sony along with a guest spot in a Pepsi commercial (where Flavor Flav took the cake), Melanie surely has a great voice, but Chris Rene is a new flavor of music.

Shortly after his bronze medal finish on the show, Chris signed his own deal with Epic records under Sony.  Now, a few months later, Chris has re-mastered his token track, “Young Homie”, adding a new verse, changing a few lines around, and perfecting his sound.  This record was written, produced, and composed by Chris himself and will be the first single off his debut LP, which does not yet have a release date, but I’d presume sometime this summer.  Renaliens where you at?
