Hip-Hop | RYDEN Shares About The Deeper Message Behind “Dear God”, Her Background, Dream Collaborations & More
Posted by VMan on October 24, 2016
RYDEN was featured on FNT a few weeks back, delivering a feeling that was different, above-average for the genre it was tapping into, and was much deeper than the messages most songs convey. We reached out to RYDEN for an exclusive interview, highlighting her background, the story being her latest single “Dear God ft. Chase Allen”, and more.
What part of your background led to focusing on production?
RYDEN: Music has always been my first love. I’ve been in music in some form or other my entire life. I started out playing classical piano when I was a kid, and then in high school I played first violin in an orchestra for 4 years. All my years after that were spent in hip hop. In college, all I did was ditch class all the time to hang out in studios and record as a singer/songwriter. Even then, I’d always looked up to producers more than any other role in the industry.
Mix | Jack Rabbit Goes Dark for Halloween Mix
Posted by Meezy on October 24, 2016
So… Jack Rabbit gets evil huh? This mix is creepy as hell, but good, really good. With some of the darkest music we’ve heard accompanied by various creepy movies quotes, this mix perfectly sets the mood for these days leading up to Halloween. We had no idea that the rabbit had this side to him, seeing as all of his previous mixes are so jolly and playful… his range in music taste is impressive.

Chill | Aristo G’s “Something About You” Made By 18 y/o Melbourne Producer
Posted by VMan on October 10, 2016
Some tunes you don’t have to think about, you just dig them from the very first listen. Aristo G’s “Something About You” is one of those tunes, pulling together hot elements from house, disco, chill house, and a dose of something all it’s own to form and original that is out on Into The Wild Records right now.
Aristo G had only a handful of releases out currently but is already gaining strong traction on each of them. From branding to music, Aristo G seems to know what he is doing. Keep an eye on this disco lover and see what else comes from him soon.
Mix | Jack Rabbit Radio | Session 009
Posted by Meezy on October 5, 2016
Jack Rabbit is back, this time with a little slower hop than normal. Session 009 is super laidback and dreamy… and as he claims in the bio, “could definitely set the mood for some romantic endeavors.” Although the change of pace, we still love the mix. It truly shows his range in music taste and was executed very well. Jack Rabbit never fails to impress. Make sure to support and come back in two weeks for more.
FYI | Here’s The Problem With Afrojack’s “Gone” Single
Posted by BIGLIFE on September 15, 2016
When I heard his brand new “Gone” single featuring Ty Dolla $ign it grabbed my attention immediately. I appreciated that he was trying to do something different despite the recent trend to meld the dance and hip-hop worlds. Afrojack stepped out of the box this time, and it was so damn close to paying off for him. I want to like this song. Ty Dolla $ign’s toplines are always sneaky good, and this one is no exception. This song had all the makings of a “hit” until you reach the 1:12 mark.
That’s when the song falls off the rails.
I’ll start wit the vocal mix. It’s bad. Really bad. How could Afrojack get the vocal mix so wrong? The production is far too loud, and drowns Ty Dolla $ign’s vocals out, making them nearly unintelligible. The verses are the best part of the song. How could you let those verses go to waste with a vocal mix (on the drop) that’s sub-par.
Even worse? The drop. The drop is a lot like going on a date. The date is going well. You’re on fire. Every thing you’re saying is making her laugh. You invite the date back to your house. You’re on the couch. She’s grinding all over you. Calling you “papi”. Gets you all worked up. All of a sudden, her friend texts her and she says he has to leave. You’re sitting there and you don’t know what the hell just happened.
This is what the drop feels like. A complete train wreck.
While I applaud Afrojack for stepping outside of his box, this one falls short.
