We’ve officially entered a different realm in American music culture, if you’re making big-room, progressive or electro, you’re left behind. If you’re making genres popularized in the last 2 years, you’re competing.
One artist doing more than just competing is Spirix, his chill house sound pushes the limits of elements currently trending within the realm of deep house, future house, melodic house ect. The vocal wasn’t a bad add either, just another part that has become a new standard for dance music artists in general, but is well suited in Spirix’s case – its not just about instrumentals, its about a full experience, and vocals within “Something About You (feat. ALIUS)” raise the quality of the experience tenfold.

Six straight HypeM #1’s. Yes, you read that right, SIX! Lash has been on fire lately, and the Dominican duo have taken the scene by storm with their unique blend of pop, deep, future, and progressive house. Here’s what they had to say about their newest release: “We actually personally reached out to Hayley Kiyoko since we’re such big fans of her voice and music. When we heard back and got the opportunity to flip her remix in Lash style, we couldn’t have been happier. Chill out with new music from Paris-based producer FEYNMAN and his latest release “Air”. Building on piano keys and sweeping synths, FEYNMAN manages to make experimental sounds extra funky. ‘Air’ is the first cut from upcoming eponymous project due out later this year.

Ok, there’s been lots of news over the past few months about the end of Soundcloud and we wanted to put together a quick list of our favorite Soundcloud alternatives to check out. With all of the uncertainty, here are some great places to diversify where you’re connecting with fans:
Bandcamp – This has been around for a while now, and a great place to sell music. It definitely lacks some social features like repost’s and comments, but definitely a great place to sell music if you have a loyal fanbase. It might seem a bit old fashioned to use Bandcamp, but it’s a sure thing for selling music.
Mixcloud – An amazing place to post mixes, maybe not the best place to put all of your music, but a great home for your mixes. Lots of radio shows and DJ’s are using it and seems like an obvious fit for your set.
Fanburst – The newcomer we recently discovered with an awesome way to share Albums and EP’s. The best part about Fanburst is that it’s totally free and has a powerful set of analytics tools. Definitely worth checking out, it’s pretty much Soundcloud but free for artists.
YouTube – Let’s not forget about the king of music and video sharing, with the recent launch of YouTube Red and a massive user base, Youtube is a tip top place to put your music. While YouTube lacks some social features, it makes up in the userbase. YouTube should definitely be in your swiss army knife of services.

Jon Waltz is no stranger to us here, and he is easily one of the best artists to rise through the ranks over the past year. He is on a roll, making some of the best music possible on the independent circuit, I don’t think it will be too long before we start to see him in a city near you.
