Ch-ch-ch-ch-ch-chop squad. I eventually knew that Chance and Lucki Eck$ would be releasing some music together, seeing as they are two of the biggest faces of Chicago rap at the moment. But once I saw that “Young Chop” on the bottom I knew what was in store already before even listening to it. Whether its the eery chop squad intro that completely captivated me, or the slow beat that Chance’s words just effortlessly flow over, the song provides something fresh and different. Even with enlisting top tier talent on his song, Lucki holds down his part very very well. The whole aura of the song really embodies Lucki and the sound he has been creating with his first two mixtapes. Keep this one on repeat, cause it definitely will be hard not to keep listening to. Be on the lookout for more music from Lucki and Chance soon.

You see, as bloggers, we receive submission after submission (and we DO read them all!) and once in a while we get a track that just makes us freeze in our seats. Meet DIMES. You don’t know him. This is his first release… I mean he’s barely got 20 followers on Soundcloud. Nonetheless, he’s got a level of confidence that’s evident in the quality of this track he pushed my way a few days ago. Young Dutch phenom, the man responsible for hits like “Pallaroid” and “Flute“, Thomas Newson is back with anther tune that is a decidedly different tone and style from his previous productions. “Don’t Hold Us” is paired with the progressive house branch of Armada, Zouk, where this tune will work well within his discography and the label’s. Newson has collabs on the way with Bassjackers and Blinders, so don’t expect him to quiet down anytime soon. “Don’t Hold Us” is slated for release February 24th, so be on the lookout for it then.

Deep house has been all the rage lately, so it shouldn’t be too surprising that in between heavy festival bangers like “Revolution”, Nervo decided go von deeper with Marco Lys on “Don’t Break My Heart”. As to be expected with any Nervo tune, it has been remixed plenty and in steps American up and comer, a member of Mike Hawkins powerful Megaton Records family, Landis. Months later after the drop off Lucki Eck$’ debut mixtape, Alternative Trap, we get some brand new visuals to one of the standout tracks. Count on Me was directed by JKrown and portrays Lucki and his crew on the street. Great visuals matched with a great tune make this a must watch. Be on the lookout for more Lucki in the future.
