Dave Edwards is Mr. Fun, everything he seems to add his touch to, turns into instant fun, and his latest remix of Betty Who’s “All Of You” is just that, a feel good Summer anthem that’ll make you feel sexy on the dancefloor! Better yet, if I didn’t know better I’d think this was an original Katy Perry tune – sorry Betty – and Dave Edwards is Sandy V, the Grammy winning producer behind Katy’s “Fireworks,” so great job Dave, this is a TUNE, a must listen and a must download!

Pop | Goldhouse Goes Retro-Pop With “Over”

Chicago producer Goldhouse releases “Over,” a timeless pop ditty that very could well end up on your radio, this is no different than “Shut Up And Dance With Me” or whatever else catchy pop record is currently playing on your radio that you can’t help but belt out while cruising in the whip. I can’t help but hear Enrique Iglesias singing this tune, but nah it’s Goldhouse, and he does it all, no wonder both Katy Perry and Lady Gaga have called on his talents for official remix! This is a must listen and get that single on iTunes, support!

Ambient, Chill, Electro | Katy Perry – California Gurls (Matt DiMona Remix)

There’s nothing to remind you that the summer is slowly slipping away than a tropical house remix to Katy Perry.

Matt DiMona gave vibey a new meaning and completely flipped the original Perry song on its head. DiMona has stated that he is trying to find “the balance between irresistibly catchy, sing-along pop and pretty, emotional music.” With this remix I can see he’s on his way to doing just that.

“California Gurls” is already tearing apart the Hype Machine charts, so catch it while it’s hot!

Progressive House | Katy Perry ft. Juicy J – Dark Horse (Jaz Von D Bootleg)

Katy Perry ft. Juicy J - Dark Horse (Jaz Von D Bootleg)
Katy Perry’s “Prism” did ridiculous in terms of sales, with 286,000 flying off the shelves in the first week and 557,024 first week sales for “Roar” in the lead up to the album. “Dark Horse” is the latest tune to go number one. The original beat is hot fire, Dr. Luke, Max Martin & Cirkut did work on the original, but have you been looking for way to try and give it a refresher in your playlists? Dutchman Jaz von D is the man of the hour, adding a progressive flare to the tune with a rolling, growling electro bass line. Best of all, the remix is free.

NJ producer Ravi B. hits us with a bootleg remix of Katy Perry’s Dark Horse, mixing Katy Perry and Juicy J’s poppy trap top 40 tune “Dark Horse” into an upbeat electro-house club rager. I had a chance to speak with Ravi regarding his latest remixes, and he’s been focused on making bootlegs for the radio, notably landing spins on NYC’s 92.3 Now, and Philly’s Wired 96.5 among others. Also be sure to check out his remix of OneRepublic’s Counting Stars. This is a must listen and a must download!

I’m not sure if I’ve told you guys yet, but I love pop music. Katy Perry has been a favorite of mine since “Teenage Dream” and even though I wasn’t a huge fan of “Roar”, I still had hope that one day we would be a thing. That’s only a joke of course because I’m 19 and she is older than 21 which is my cut off. People older than 21 freak me out. I can’t tell whether they want to date me or tuck me into bed at night and tell me it’s okay to be a little below average. It’s a shame really, because when I first heard her latest single “Unconditionally” it was right up there with the time that guy stood at the urinal directly next to me even though there was like 5 available ones as one of the highlights of my week (I think he even took a peek but I can’t be sure). So, what do I think of the track you ask? I don’t know. I just woke up from a nap so I’m super grumpy. I drank a whole thing of Kool-Aid last night it was crazy. I have only heard it twice I believe. Once while driving to work and again while leaning on the window ledge shirtless seductively making eye contact with high school girls who walk by my house.

I thought the original was fantastic but that was only until I heard this remix. Quite honestly, this should be the original track. It has a certain cinematic aspect behind it that makes the vocals burst and the whole track overall feel more powerful. The producer behind this remix goes by remixedbynick, or Nick*,  I actually don’t know because his branding is slightly confusing. It doesn’t matter though because girls love Nicks… big Nicks… Nick has gotten a following by remixing pop songs into slightly different and usually better pop songs. He likes One Direction too, as do I, so I’m also posting his remix of their hit song “Kiss You”. God I love that song. I realize that this post will make me appear less of a man but here’s one thing that bodes well in my favour: When I was 15 my family went to the zoo during Christmas and my mom asked me to wear a scarf. I told her no, I didn’t want to because that’s girly. She got mad at me and forced me to wear it the whole time we were there. I was then called gay by passing by middle schoolers.

Trap | Britney Spears – Work Bitch (Chi Duly & Louie XIV)

Work-bitch-COVER-ART-update
What would Britney sound like on a trap beat? Chi Duly seems to specialize in answering questions no one asks. This time around he collabs with newcomer Louie XIV, for a “hillbilly trap” rendition of “Work Bitch”. Honestly seeing as how Katy Perry, Rihanna and Miley have all put out “edm trap” ish records, we’re kind of surprised Britney (who jumped on the dubstep wagon in 2011) chose such a dated edm sound on the original Work Bitch.

From Louie XIV Soundcloud:

“This was an original beat that we submitted for Britney’s record. They passed on it , so we turned trailer park lemons into a trailer park lemonade stand and flipped it into this.”
