Melodic Progressive, Trance | Blood Groove & Kikis – Silver Sand (Original Mix)
Posted by JT on November 6, 2014

Yes. Yes. Oh Yes. Blood Groove & Kikis have done it again. Due for release on Pineapple Digital on November 24, 2014, the duo captivate their audience with a musical journey that is nothing less than profound. Enjoying coverage in the past from Above & Beyond, Armin Van Buuren, Jaytech, Myon & Shane 54, Matt Darey, and Richard Durand, among many others, Blood Groove & Kikis demonstrate with their latest, “Silver Sand,” that a spiritual awakening in the dance music scene is right around the corner. With a sound this divine, one can barely fathom the limits of atomistic society; yes, “Silver Sands” tells us to wake up, spread our arms wide, and be free from the stresses of our daily lives. Grab a friend, plug this into your stereo, and drive.
Dubstep, Progressive House | Denzal Park & Dave Winnel – The Great Valley
Posted by Middy on February 9, 2014

A trio of under rated producers from down under come together to create something that is very different for both parties. They have become known for their clubby, progressive house, and with “The Great Valley” they keep some of that sound, but go for something a little more mellow and different. They eschew the trend of big drops and go for something more soothing, with long melodic segments that almost act as though they are narrating some epic journey, only to be interrupted by a Seven Lions-esque dubstep bridge. It is great to see artists experiment outside of their comfort zone, and even better to see it work and it does here in “The Great Valley”.
Chill, Trap | Y//2//K – Not Sad
Posted by BP on February 3, 2014

If you’re looking for something mellow for your Monday, Y2K has got your back. “Not Sad”, Y2K’s newest release, is beyond chill but still has trap beats and bangin’ bass. The vocals remind me of a Blackmill track, perhaps. This track is so relaxing it will take your mind on a journey. Deep but still fresh, “Not Sad” is an excellent addition to any chill trap collection. Grab it for free!
Chill, Electronic | Sevnthwonder – Toronto EP
Posted by BP on December 3, 2013

This mini-EP from Sevnthwonder called “Toronto” out on Cosmonostro is suave and bassy. Cosmonostro’s description of the two tracks is that they are “moody, emotional, yet hopeful bass numbers fitting of a night out in Ontario’s fine capital city.” I think that description couldn’t be more accurate. This duo of songs will surely take your mind on a journey.

Trap | Benzi – Girl Trapz (Volume Four)
Posted by mimada on November 26, 2013

Benzi is baaaack with another one of his signature, highly acclaimed Girl Trapz mixtapes. This Girl Trapz is special not just because its tracklist is a stolid 10 or that it makes girls (and boys!) want to take their clothes off BUT because almost all of the featured songs were produced exclusively for this set. That includes contributions from the Girl Trapz remix contest Benzi held leading up to the release. So I raise my glass to you Benzi, not a single song disappoints. Snatch this free download and let it take you away on an hour-long euphoric, ass-shaking journey.

Progressive House | DEADMAU5 – Drop The Poptart (LEVI REMIX)

Last week, Deadmau5 quit Twitter and released a sampler of tracks he had been working on. My first question when the records came out was, is this the return of the Mau5? (As if he ever left…) Mach was quick to tell me to wait and see before jumping to conclusion, but I fell on this remix by Levi of “Drop The Poptart” and honestly it’s excellent. A strong electro-progressive-house bootleg remix that’s going to take you to the stars. I suggest you listen to this as loud as possible in your headphones, or on your speakers. This piano is cosmic, and the whole flow of this track is a journey. This is a must listen!
Exclusive, Featured, Interviews | Seven Lions On Taking Time Off From Touring, Upcoming Productions And More
Posted by Middy on November 6, 2013
There aren’t many guys who have created trends and styles in dance music today. Seven Lions’ patented brand of melodic dubstep has quickly become one of the go-to styles for a throng of copycats and established producers alike. After transitioning from metal to electronic music, Jeff Montalvo made his presence felt in a huge way with his Beatport competition winning remix of Above & Beyond’s “You Got To Go”, that would launch his career and open doors that were not even on possible for him to reach before.
We caught up with Seven Lions on his tour bus before he was slated to go on at Pier 94 on Halloween with Krewella, Gareth Emery, Candyland and Cash Cash. We chatted about his upcoming plans, including taking time off from touring next year, touring in general, releases he has coming up, music piracy and much more.
