Electro-House | John Dahlback – Zeus

Posted by on September 4, 2012

The perpetually underrated John Dahlback continues his prolific 2012 with yet another single, “Zeus” an appropriate ode to the god of gods. This acid infused tune combines crunchy synths, a driving bass line, and purposeful chords to create this beast of track. A big, heavily supported track expected to heard in many sets as we start to move indoors (unfortunately) that raises the bar for the upcoming releases still in store for the rest of the year.

Chill, Electronic | Demure – Kill The Silence

Posted by on August 16, 2012

Demure, one of the pseudonyms for the prolific and very underrated Swedish producer / DJ John Dalhback has released an entire album today for FREE. This is not an album that you are going to bump at a party or use to for its high energy qualities. This is something you will throw on when you are relaxing or as John Dahlback said “Something beautiful I could listen to on the plane, bus or wherever I was… This is purely just for listening.” This is a chillout album filled with soft piano melodies, flowing percussion, ambient synths and strings and smooth, emotive vocals. The album has a real indie vibe to it with some of the percussions and the vocals, showing off just how great a producer Dahlback is and how varied he is as a musician, notably because all of the instruments sound real.

It starts out a little slow but really picks at “You Wouldn’t Know” and continues on with great tracks like the more upbeat “Bittersweet”, the title track “Kill The Silence”, and the uplifting “By His Side”. The album continues in its ambient, chilled out style and finished off with almost jazzy, indie track in “Who I Used To Be” that really sums up the experimental nature of the album and the unique sound displayed by the enigmatic John Dahlback. The best thing about the whole thing is that entire album is free. It is rare for an established dance producer to give away an entire album, so this is something you need to check out now.

Electro-House, Progressive House | Lilla Sallskapet – Jag Vill Ut (John Dahlback & Turn Remixes)

Posted by on July 8, 2012

John Dahlback is a very prolific producer as seen in his preview video for this year and a very talented one at that with countless productions under his belt that any producer would love to call their own. He takes this Swedish track (yes the vocals are in Swedish) and adds delicate key work in the build with an anthemic drop of uplifting synths and a driving bass line. The Turn remix is also excellent, though it has a different flavor taking a harder electro house approach, though it is quite a tasteful in its style. Turn starts out with pianos that remind me a lot of Justice in the build and even with the top line synth in the drop, then adds grungy synths to magnify the pulsing bass line. Both remixes provide something unique and will be a great addition to your libraries and the best part is they are both FREE.

Preview, Progressive House | John Dahlback – Embrace Me (Dirty South Remix)

Posted by on June 18, 2012

The distinguished Dirty South has released his remix of John Dahlback’s “Embrace Me” after premiering it on Phazing Radio #003 to critical praise. Dirty South is one of those producers who takes his time with his productions and does not over release, thus making each one that much more important. He does not miss on his tracks and has another in his arsenal with his collaboration with Alesso “City of Dreams“. “Embrace Me” combines the euphoric synth melodies that Dirty South is so skilled at making with a well crafted build, a strong clap driven bass line and male vocals that fit perfectly into the track. Dirty South has himself another monster to accompany his remix of “Devil’s Work” that is still doing work in sets all across the globe, so do not miss this one.

Progressive House | John Dahlback – Life

John Dahlback has found his 2012 anthem with this progressive house masterpiece “Life”. Tabbed as the essential new tune by Pete Tong a few weeks ago, this song is ready to destroy clubs and festivals worldwide. With uplifting synth riffs and an explosive bass line in the drop, this song is certain to be an anthem for the beginning of 2012 from the vastly underrated Swedish Producer / Dj.

Dubstep | Datsik & Cookie Monsta

Posted by on January 31, 2012

Two dubtep heavy weights, releasing two monster tunes this week. It is fair to say there has been a constant flow of good releases for the past few weeks and that there is more to come. Datsik’s new single Fully Blown featuring Snak The Ripper on the vocals goes all out. With Datsik on the track you know not expect anything less than his heavy synths and bass. If this is a preview of what is going to be on his album then things look promising. Get it on Beatport HERE.

Finally we get something new from Cookie Monsta and it came at the perfect time. John Dahlback’s electro remix to this track was posted a few weeks ago, but I wasn’t expecting Cookie Monsta to crush this remix. He uses the vocals superbly to build the suspense into his bass packed drop. I can only imagine how heavy this track is on a good sound system, but either way this remix is a must have. Also keep a look out for a release date on his EP, which should be soon. Grab this track on Beatport HERE.

Electro, Electro-House | John Dahlback, Cazzette, & Trampboat

Posted by on January 23, 2012

John Dahlback taking his build and up transition game to the next level with this track. Dahlback uses Kirsty Hawkshaw’s vocals in all the right ways here to climax into a dope electro house drop. This is definitely a tune that will get the crowd going no matter what the occasion.

Our favorite Swedes Cazzette cranking out tracks like second nature. Here we go with another dub electro house remix with their signature modern talking “Yo” sound included of course. Let me know if you guys are getting tired of this new energy packed style of electro because I know I’m not. Grab it on Beatport HERE.

Trampboat goes a little bit heavier on the electro in this track then you saw in the first two, but don’t let that discourage you from listening. The use of electro in this track is tasteful enough to keep it from ruining the track and thats what keeps me listening to it over and over. Be sure to check out some of his other material on SOUNDCLOUD.
