Freestyle, Hip-Hop | J. Cole – Drank in My Cup (Freestyle)

Posted by on March 23, 2012

Two days ago a “remix” of Kirko Bangz hit, “Drank In My Cup” leaked out “featuring” J. Cole.  Well apparently it was falsely identified and it was not recorded as a remix but rather a freestyle by the Cole crowned king himself.  Listen here in full as Cole blesses us with an awesome new freestyle leading us into the weekend.

ColeWorldStillOnRepeat.  Jermaine delivers the video for “Nobody’s Perfect”, featuring Missy Elliot off his debut album, Cole World: The Sideline Story.  Now that “Workout” is beginning to lose some steam on the airwaves, “Can’t Get Enough” is still scorching and “Nobody’s Perfect” is the next hit on deck.    In an interview after the album release, Cole had planned on pushing “Nobody’s Perfect” before “Can’t Get Enough”, but it’s such a hot record it was evidently hard to contain for that long.  In case you missed Cole’s 2 latest freebies, cop them below!

P.S. Anyone else catch the radio edit for “inside” on Missy’s hook? Really?

J. Cole drops this in light of Dreamville Weekend in his hometown Fayetteville, NC. He’s doing this to support and give back to the community where he grew up. Cole visited a couple high schools in the city, including the one he use to go to. They also announced the official proclamation of J. Cole Day. Check out this Elite production.

Cole took to his twitter to release a free new joint entitled, “Grew Up Fast” earlier this morning.  No word whether or not this is the official single off his sophomore album which we can expect this upcoming summer, but Cole unleashes some steam and shares his two cents on what’s happening to hip-hop.

Hip-Hop | 360 – What Goes Up (Prod. by J. Cole)

If I knew this track was going to drop today, I would have waited off to introduce 360.  Fortunately for him, I broke the FNT ice with a post of the video of him and J. Cole working on this track in the studio, and now I’m showing him more love again today.  As expected, Cole delivers a key driven beat with some heavy bass as 360 brings some rhymes to blast in your residential streets.  One thing’s for sure, 360 is heading up and his time is now. No love lost, you can thank me later.

Hip-Hop | Introducing New Talent: 360

I came across “360” a few days ago on Rap Radar and couldn’t help but wonder, “Who is this guy and how is he in the studio with J. Cole?”  Hailing from Queens, NY, 360 finds much of his inspiration in 90’s hip-hop which acted as the birthplace for his career as an artist.  As far as I know, 360 is still unsigned and has one mixtape to date, Been Official, on his resume.  From the few tracks I’ve heard his sound is very authentic, justifiably so, when you’re frankly unknown and already in the studio with Jermaine.  Below is his most recent (and debut) video for his remix to Common’s “Blue Sky”, titled “Mr. Blue Sky”.  Judging by the sound of the beat with Cole above and the verses I’ve heard 360 put together, that G-Shock may be turning into a Rollie sooner than you think.

“Am I wrong cause I got some dough and copped a couple finer thingsG-Shock to Rolex, my how the times have changed!” – J. Cole

Hip-Hop, Rap | Trae Tha Truth – I’m On 2.0

Posted by on February 3, 2012

Trae Tha Truth uses his connections to recruit some of the biggest names in the hip hop industry to supply us with an epic remix to Mark Morrison’s, I’m On. I’m honestly shocked that Trae the Truth had the ability to recruit this much talent for one of his tracks, so I am lost for words.
