The people behind FreshNewTracks are no strangers to startups. We understand that oftentimes it’s difficult for a great product to catch enough eyeballs to make something happen. Therefore, sometimes we like to lend a helping hand when something catches our eye. Meet Rukkus, an app that makes ticket buying an easy process. Here’s what their team had to say about the app:

In an era where seemingly every kind of transaction can take place on a mobile device, the current state of the ticket buying process can sometimes seem a bit antiquated. Several major ticket outlets do not even have a mobile app, and the ones that do leave a lot to be desired.

Enter Rukkus: the fastest growing mobile ticketing app for iOS (Android coming soon!). With its sleek design and intuitive interface, the Rukkus app has essentially cut the red tape between planning and “being there,” to create a seamless and pain-free experience. The only thing standing between you and that sold-out concert all of your friends are going to tonight is two simple taps on your iPhone.

No more scouring your web browser for the cheapest tickets. Rukkus searches over 1,000 vendors to find you the best possible value on tickets for concert, sports and theater events.

In addition to its streamlined approach to purchasing tickets, Rukkus boasts some unprecedented discovery tools: Upon downloading the app, Rukkus will scan iTunes, Spotify and Facebook likes to build a unique “Music DNA” for each user. Based on that information, Rukkus suggests certain events in addition to tracking artists for whom the user has already shown interest.

For the more ‘D.I.Y.’ crowd, Rukkus allows users to browse events and listen to artists’ music within the app. As you find new artists you like, you can add them to your favorites, which will automatically update your Music DNA. If Rukkus is tracking an artist you don’t like, you can have them removed from your Music DNA, as well.

The days of sifting through overpriced ticket brokers and sketchy Craigslist ads are over. Put an end to FOMO once and for all. Download the app and go start a Rukkus.

Dear Niykee,

Please consider this my formal blogposal.  I’m not sure what planet you came from or what your parents did to birth such an Alpha angel, but you’re here now.  Don’t pay mind to the fact you weren’t even born and I was already crushing pogs with my gold plated slammer while eating lunchables like a king.  Or to the fact that I didn’t get my first cell phone ’til I was your age (today).  Yeah, it was that long ago.  Or to the fact that your clothing style is now retro to me because I grew up in the 80’s and 90’s and WE invented swag.  Or to the fact I was alive for Tupac’s reign.  Bottom line is, I’m open to the idea of twerking.  I have a cell phone now, an iPhone 4s in fact.  I’ve also got a walkman, a cassette player, a VCR, a floppy disk, and one of the first mp3 players if you ever want a history lesson.  We can make it work., I promise.

If and when you read this, kindly send me your acceptance via Snapchat (@Grube) or Vine (@Grubeats).

Sincerely,

@Grubeats

P.S.  I’ll throw my 401k on a Niykee vs. Miley twerk off, any day of the week.

Oh yeah, for those of you who want the download for this #CrackTrack song, don’t forget to cop that free here, and follow my wifey on TwitterYoutube, & Facebook.

FYI, Videos | Jay-Z – Magna Carta Holy Grail Release Date + Preview

Posted by on June 16, 2013

Attention iPhone users, come this Independence Day, you guys might be a little salty. According to Samsung, they will be giving the brand spanking new album from Sean Carter (Jay-Z) himself to the owners of the Galaxy smartphone for free. You read that correctly. I’m not sure which one is bigger news, the egregious marketing attempt by Samsung, or the album itself. Anywho, it definitely has my cosign…and I’m an iPhone user! Check back soon cause I’m sure some of the singles will be releasing soon. Big things from Hov and the Roc comin soon.

Chill, Hip-Hop, Rap, Videos | Juicy J ft. Wiz Khalifa – Know Better (Official Video)

Posted by on November 11, 2012

Just a week after they released the track, Wizzle and Juicy give this track of Cabin Fever 2 the video treatment. Probably the most cliche video I’ve ever seen, I really don’t think they even needed a director for this. One of them could’ve just filmed an after party on their iPhone and it would’ve served about the same purpose. Also, there’s some dot under Wiz’s eye that I’ve never seen before, and I consider myself a Wiz historian, if anyone has any idea what that could be, please contact me. But on a more serious note, this song doesn’t suck, so enjoy it.

Hip-Hop, Videos | Timeflies – The Clockumentary

For this week’s Timeflies Tuesday, we get a great behinds the scenes look at what goes on in Cal and Rez’s life. They talk about their music, their organic growth, their fans, and their history. As someone who has been listening to Timeflies since their first ever Tuseday(represent), I couldn’t be more inspired and awed by what they have done. Shouts to their manager Jared, for the early tip on this, and for making a cameo in the video.

In addition, Cal and Rez have released the official Timeflies Music iPhone App! Fully integrated with a custom Timeflies Twitter stream, exclusive music and videos, every Timeflies Tuesday at your finger tips, streams and links to purchase all of their music, as well as the latest news, tour dates and locations, fully equipped with a map to tell you how far you’ll have to travel to catch the fellas live! Best of all, it’s FREE!
