Over 20 years into his lengthy career, EDX is still managing to stay on top of his game with his evolving sound. Currently, his brand of house lies in the mellower regions of deep house, a progression from his driving progressive house that he was known for earlier in his career. In 2008, one of EDX’s biggest tunes was his remix of Dubfire’s “Roadkill,” and now, it’s seeing new light thanks to EDX’s brand new, “Ibiza Sunrise” remix of the track that is sure to dominate this summer. Aash Mehta just dropped his newest mix, thanking fans for the support on his debut EP that we talked about here. From Aash himself, “Here’s a little thank you for all the love you’ve shown! I got a bit tired of the traditional summer mixes filled with tropical house or piano powered drops, so today, I decided to record my own!”. This mix takes you on a journey, blending genres from future-house, progressive-house, and even trap! Eric Sharp and Tenova have teamed up for a big new bass-driven, house inspired track called “Hallucination”, which is seeing its release this week through Tommie Sunshine’s label, Brooklyn Fire. Anytime Tommie Sunshine puts his stamp of approval on something, you know it’ll be good, stating, “There are few House tracks that get under my skin like this one. Let this track wash over you, and I’m quite sure it will deliver the titular ‘Hallucination’ as promised.” This track is melodic and has a beautiful yet powerful bass line, making it not only perfect for dance floors but for those warm summer days as well! Goldskies is a song that was remixed again and again. Now that a pause has come, “Goldskies (Dreadhauk Remix)” comes off particularly refreshing. Dreadhauk isn’t afraid of going into unknown territory when it comes to producing his tracks. “Goldskies (Dreadhauk Remix)” is a bullseye example of this.
Dreadhauk latest remix is a deep house / chill tune at it’s core, but carries this raw synth layer that fits surprisingly and gets better with each listen.

Clean Bandit. What can you say about this super-group that hasn’t already been said. They pump out quality tune after quality tune. That’s no easy task, as dropping hit single after hit single takes serious talent. Recruiting X-Factor alumnus Louisa Johnson, Clean Bandit may have another summer smash on their hands with their brand house crossover “Tears” single that I’ve had on repeat all weekend. Uplifting and melodic, Louisa’s vocals float over the sharp Clean Bandit production, creating a perfect dance ready pop smasher that I see be on every radio in the US.

House | Felix Jaehn and Hitimpulse Join Forces For “Cut The Cord”

It’s no shocker that Felix Jaehn is a mastermind in the tropical house genre. The German producer became instantly famous when he released his reggae, pop-infused remix of OMI’s “Cheerleader” last summer, which skyrocketed to the #1 spot on iTunes charts in over 55 countries. Suddenly bestowed with a huge international fan base, Felix was prepared to maintain that energy by showing off his musical dynamism by working with some of most talented producers and artists in the industry. Just last month, his pop-infused single “Can’t Go Home” with powerhouse artists Steve Aoki and Adam Lambert demonstrated the 21-year-old producer’s effortless ability to cross through genres and step outside his comfort zone.
Now, Felix Jaehn returns to once again surprise us with another genre-defying gem. His newest track “Cut The Cord” with Berlin-based producer Hitimpulse is a bouncy, evocative tune that highlights a fusion of rolling piano scales, thick synths, and a punching breakbeat rhythm.
