Here’s a lil re interpretation of a classic mo town track by the Temptations, curtesy of FKJ. French Kiwi Juice has be doing his thang over there in the great city of Parîs for a while now, but this remix is just too funky to overlook. With its original bootleg over some bumpin’ kicks and groovy chords, this song will certainly strike those strings in your ears that will make you feel some type of way.

One cool thing that happened to me this year was that I got hired on to write for FNT. I have followed this website for years and it has led me to mountains of great music. I’m glad that I now have the opportunity to share music with the website. This year I became a bigger fan of mixes; I love to see what artists can do when given an extended period of time within which they can be creative. Below is the list of 10 mixes that I liked the most from this past year, with some other mixes mentioned at the end that didn’t make this list based on who knows what. The list is more or less ranked in order, with mix #1 definitely being my favourite. If you don’t want to listen to all of the mixes, and don’t care what I have to say about them, then skip ahead and at least listen to the number 1 mix – Space Jams by The M Machine (hence the above, cool picture of those guys). As if GRiZ’s “You Got To Change” couldn’t get any better, Jackson Breit comes through with an incredible vocal remix of the track. The track is the second single off Jackson’s upcoming In The Shade EP that will be released in the near future. The EP will feature Jackson’s vocals over electronic tracks by Gramatik, Breakbot, FKJ and many others. This latest vocal edit reminds me of a funk-filled mondern take on “No Diggity”. Jackson Breit packs a “chill” punch in this catchy hybrid track that features elements of hip hop and alternative. Here’s his take on the song:
“Here’s the first single off my mixtape EP that will be released in the winter with vocals over electronic tracks by Gramatik, Breakbot, and FKJ. The EP is called “In The Shade.” This first song is over Lying Together by FKJ because it is one of my favorite beats of the year. It is about my appreciation for the being in the shade, physically and metaphorically.”
