Bass | Dead Battery Returns To Kannibalen Records With Seeing Red EP

Posted by on September 6, 2017

Dead Battery is one of those special producers that not everybody knows about. He’s a true talent that can rise above the rest when he’s called forth. The only thing is that he runs on his own time. Luckily, we’ve gotten to see him come forth again, this time with an EP called Seeing Red. Complete with six tracks, he makes his return to the unique bass compositions that the select people who do know of him, recognize him for. This project follows up on his monumental Recovery album that was created after he had come out of a coma caused by a motorcycle accident. It’s safe to say he’s moving ahead with all cylinders firing.

Kannibalen Records continues to branch out and release tracks from third party acts. It seems to me they may end up expanding their roster soon, but only time will tell. For now they’re growing their catalog with works like their latest EP from DISTO. The Costa Rican producer dropped three hot tracks on his Free The Freaks project. Each shares its own unique qualities with the EP going from house to trap to dubstep. Free your inner freak with this project and get a copy of it today. If you’re not one to download, add it to your playlist!

Electronic, Remix | VenessaMichaels Nostalgic Remix EP Is All You Need

Posted by on August 15, 2017

VenessaMichaels has just come out with what may be her biggest project to date. One of LA’s best talents released a massive remix EP for free, complete with her take on classics like “Grind With Me” and “Hit ‘Em Up Style” along with others. Instead of just dropping all the tracks on Soundcloud, she put together a mini-mix, with the download containing every treat involved in the project. NOW That’s What I Call 2090 invokes the nostalgia of the memorable compilation series. All together this project is all you need for the week. Leave it to Venessa to do something this major.

DO SOMETHING

Electro-House, House | Rad Cat’s Untitled EP Is Too Good To Be Named

Posted by on July 31, 2017

There are a ton of producers in LA who are biting off of each other, but at the same time there are a select number of people in that area doing their own thing. One of those unique producers is Rad Cat. He recently came out with his EP, Untitled, that has four tracks on it seemingly telling a tale of love and loss. The first few tracks fit together as one funky trio, but then he closes the EP out by switching things up entirely with his single “hater” that was previously released. The juxtaposition fits nicely with the other tracks that will have you grooving away without hesitation. If there’s one EP you listen to this week, make it this one!

Electronic | HXV Marks A New Direction With Separation EP

Creating art is a deeply personal experience, but what happens when your personal life changes? So does your art. That’s just the case with HXV, who has marked a new direction in his life with the Separation EP, which features three mind-blowing singles. Together they tell a story of making the transition, one that will lead HXV to new heights in the electronic music community. It’s a defining moment, which is expressed in each tale, with different feelings and sounds making up each. It’s been a while since a project this meaningful has come through the dance community, but leave it up to one of Atlanta’s finest to deliver it.

Last week we posted about POOLCLVB’s second release off their forthcoming debut EP, “You Give Me Love”. The people spoke and “You Give Me Love” delivered that sweet summery vibe that makes you want to get up and cut some shapes. Just when we thought the Aussie Wonder duo couldn’t drop any more heat, they went out and slipped in four new fire remixes before the end of the year with the help of their friends Volkoder, Stace Cadet, TWERL, and Hier. Catch these tracks on SoundCloud or wait until tomorrow when our pals over at etcetc music release the tracks everywhere.
