Electronic, Glitch, Preview | Haywyre – Draw The Line EP (Preview)
Posted by Mach on August 6, 2012
Haywyre is on FIRE! After just releasing his third successful EP of 2012, he already has a forth EP not set for release. The previews available for the upcoming EP, “Draw The Line,” sound incredible, making me even more impatient for its August 28th release. The title track absolutely blew my mind, Haywyre’s composition has always been incredible, but this track feels like he really pushed the limits of the line that is being drawn out. There is no stopping this guy, his last release “Infinite” stormed up the charts on Beatport. It feels like only a matter of time before Haywyre’s popularity explodes.

Drum & Bass | DnB Fridays

Kicking off DnB Friday the right way with probably the most amazing track I have heard all week. Silence Groove released this track as part of their EP “Eat Me Softly” about a week ago. The whole EP is amazing so be sure to grab it off Beatport HERE.
Oscillator Z dropped this pretty heavy drumstep remix to Linkin Park’s Burn It Down this week and it has been tearing my speakers apart all week. I love how one week he is making mellow melodic instrumentals and then before you know it he is releasing free heavy drumstep remixes. Either way his work it always top notch and this one is up there with the rest.
This track from Bionick exhibits some old school Dnb vibes which is what attracted me towards it. It had those heavy hitting drums and the grimy basslines. It was a sure download for me after the first listen.
Vocal DnB is where it is at and Rameses B nailed it on this original entitled Dreaming. Fuzing some of the techniques he uses in his melodic dubstep tunes he is able to combine the best of both worlds giving us this amazing track.
Dubstep | xKore — Stabs EP
Posted by Sev on July 30, 2012
The heavy hitting xKore’s newest EP “Stabs” was released on Inspected today. Most well known for his powerful, vicious growl sounds and laser synths, this is has just the right combination and amout of both. Although most people were waiting to hear the new bass bumping tracks he had produced; I think it was his melodic masterpiece Empty Space that won me over on the EP. The heavy hitting tracks like Boom and Stabs are still amazing tracks, but Empty Space stood out to me the most and won me over immediately. Being able to accommodate both sides of the spectrum is a big aspect in my eyes as far as the well roundedness of a producer is concerned and this isn’t the first time xKore has exhibited that aspect. All in all xKore shows us no obstacle is to tough for him to tackle when producing multiple genres. He can either destroy your face with bass or melt you heart out with his amazing melodies, sounds and great use of accompanied vocals. Don’t sleep on this one of a kind EP and grab it off Beatport HERE.
Electro-House | Wolfgang Gartner – Casual Encounters of the 3rd Kind EP
Posted by Spice on July 30, 2012
After a weekend of nonstop action at Identity Festival, Wolfgang Gartner got down to business this morning and dropped a two-track EP on Beatport. My initial reaction to Casual Encounters of the 3rd Kind is a resounding mehhhh; there are no big, infectious melodies a la “Redline,” “Flexx” or the inimitable “Illmerica” here, and while that’s not automatically a bad thing, the clean, simple and repetitive game has been played to more kinetic and spectacular effect elsewhere (ex: Afrojack’s “Pop On Acid;” Wolfgang’s own “Space Junk”). Maybe it’s just that I’m aggressively not feeling the whiny loop at the beginning of “Girl on Boy” (can’t help but think that Alvin Risk would have done something better there) but these tracks just don’t seem to go anywhere that interesting. But who knows, maybe they’ll wind up being awesome live. We shall see, I guess. Check out the EP and let us know what you think.

Dubstep, Electro-House, Review | Zeds Dead & Omar LinX – The Living Dead EP
Posted by Mach on July 25, 2012
Redbull posted up a preview only premiere yesterday on their site for this insane EP and the feed back has been immense. Zeds Dead has again teamed up with Toronto’s master lyricist Omar LinX to dish out another knockout blow to our eardrums. If what we have been hearing from these three isn’t enough proof that they should become an official trio, I don’t know what is.
“Crank” kicks off this EP with Zeds Dead’s notorious bass-crunch. Omar LinX opens up the track by putting the mic on its knees, the spitting coming from him alone. Zeds Dead takes the rest from there finishing strong, but just getting started. The next track, “Take A Chance,” is another crunchy Dubstep track. Again Omar LinX was a key factor in its perfection, while Zeds Dead created the feel Omar cooked. With great things also come disappointments here and there, that being said this EPs only disappointment in my mind was the EP’s title track, “The Living Dead.” The idea of the track is cool, but hearing it in action you can tell it is lacking in any form of excitement. Though the title track was not anything special, the last track of the EP is undoubtedly one of Zeds Dead’s and Omar LinX’s best works. Omar does his thing, expressing his emotional flow flawlessly over the calmed beats of the track. Zeds Dead gives us a drop style we are not use to hearing from them, as if we are supposed to be Crunkstepping in the lights of Swag. With the one exception in this EP, it is still an amazing compilation from Zeds Dead & Omar LinX.

Dubstep, Electro-House, Moombahton | Kill The Noise — Roots Remixed EP
Posted by Sev on July 24, 2012
If you want to talk about a producer who puts out some of the most top quality tracks in the Dubstep scene right now, then Kill The Noise is a producer that should be near the top of that list. Having spent countless months on his first OWSLA EP “Kill Kill Kill”, which is where we first witnessed that amazing growl sound he mastered so well. Now we have this “Roots Remixed EP” released under Slow Roast Records under which the original “Roots EP” was released.
Not only is Kill The Noise’s remix amazing, but so are the other 5 remixes. Starting with the KTN remix, we see that sensational, heavy, bass bumping style that has become a house hold favorite. I will say this, the intro does get a little bit annoying after about 10 seconds of it, but the drop makes it well worth it. Next up is Brillz outstanding Trap/Dubstep fusion remix. Many of you might not know Brillz, but he was part of Ultraviolet which was featured on “Kill Kill Kill”; you guys might remember them from the hit track Dying ft Emily Hudson. Either way Brillz had my second favorite remix on this EP. The horns and high synths mixed with the Trap percussions all work so well together. Kastle Slow Motion also had a Trap remix, but they had a little more funk feel to their remix. It sounded like something you would hear Outkast rapping over and I wasn’t feeling it too much because it just felt out of place on the EP. Torro Torro has had their remix of My World complete for almost a year now so you can imagine how relieved they were to hear it was going to be released. Definitely a great Moombahton remix to the track keeping the latin vibes throughout on this one. This track has more of the original Moombahton feel without all the new Dubstep synths we hear nowadays mixed into tracks. Will Bailey also had a dope Moombahton remix as well, but his remix relates more to what we hear currently in the Moombahton scene. This track really reminded me of something off of Alvin Risk’s latest “Infinity EP” with the high pitch laser synths, which isn’t a bad thing in my opinion. Last but not least we have Codes Nu Dance remix, which is a pretty dope funked out remix. This one is definitely a great dance tune and something pretty unique. Grab the EP on Beatport HERE.
Here is a nice sampler mix of all the tracks on the EP by Kill The Noise
Moombahton | Moombah Mondays
Posted by Sev on July 24, 2012
Nothing too crazy this week as far as Moombahton goes, so we will keep this edition of Moombah Mondays nice and short. UKF and xKore decided they were going to give away a track off of his upcoming EP on Inspected and out of all the tracks it was his Moombahcore one entitled Everybody Rock. I know xKore has been producing some Moombahton tunes in the past few months, but I wasn’t expecting this to be on his EP. Some nice vocals on the track along with some nice trancey synths that build and lead straight into a pretty heavy Moombahton/xKore-synth infused drop. You can download the track through the UKF youtube page.
I was caught off guard again, but this time with this remix by Nadastrom. I didn’t see this Zeds Dead track every being remixed into a Trap-Bass styled remix and especially not by Nadastrom. Either way I don’t think it turned out too bad, but definitely unique and original. Waiting for a release date on this one.
I knew I could count on Dface to come through with a Moombahton track for this weeks Moombah Mondays, and he did. It seems as though the surge of Moombahton tracks has finally died out and everyone is slowly moving their way towards Moombahcore and Trap, which is sad to see. The first few months when Moombah Mondays began I had so many amazing tracks to choose from and was always left in an abundance, but now it seems as though nobody wants to make any more Moombahton. Dface did his thing on this track and I’m feeling it. I love that he sticks to his own and doesn’t give into whatever is popular at the time. That increased my level of respect for him as an artist.
