Chill, Trap | Atlantic Connection – Perfect (She from the Hood)
Posted by BP on July 31, 2013
Atlantic Connection calls his music “future soul” and I think that is the perfect way to describe it. This track is seriously chill, and also shows obvious musical talent. It’s a classy blend of R&B, soul, and trap. Although it starts out slow, I thoroughly enjoyed this song all the way to the end. Its mellow, but the vocals and percussion will keep listeners from falling asleep. The entire EP is fantastic and equally as soulful, but this track was my personal favorite. “Push it to the Limit” was a close second. Atlantic Connection’s EP “The Limit” is available on iTunes.

Drum & Bass, Dubstep, Glitch | Kursa – SDBN EP
Posted by Mach on July 30, 2013
Sev and I have been watching Kursa closely this year. He has been uploading some the dirtiest previews to his Soundcloud for months now and finally we get to share a release with everyone. Listening to the preview of “SDBN” did it no justice, Kursa set this sweet baby up to rock your world through a full play only. The track opens strong, taking that Neuro bass straight through your ears to the pleasure center of your brain. “Just A Glitch” is a funky Glitch-Hop/Neuro blended track, exercising its name to the fullest degree. This has to be my favorite track on this two track behemoth of an EP. The second drop just owns face in terms of glitch tracks, there just isn’t any track that comes to mind that could trump this tune. Kursa’s “SDBN” EP is out now through Caliber Music.

Hip-Hop | HAHA-YO – Dancing Like An Idiot [Video]
Posted by admin on July 19, 2013
HAHA-YO has returned funkier than ever and on a mission to protect the secret sauce.
Whatever the secret sauce may be, HAHA-YO most definitely put plenty of it on this last song and video. In an industry filled with monotonous, unoriginal artists I can say without hesitation that there is no one quite like HAHA-YO. The duo can make the most introverted, shy listener get up on his or her feet and dance with the play of a song.
“Dancing Like an Idiot” is without a doubt on the lighter side of hip-hop and has a sound sure to attract many kitchen-dancers, shower-singers, and motor vehicle-rockstars alike.
Directed by Mikey Van Beuren, the video is unlike anything you’ve ever seen. A mini-movie to go along with the soundtrack, the visual follows Boyder and Lukey the Bird on their journey to save their pizza dynasty and each other. There are -thankfully- no shots rapping in to a camera from a rooftop or in a studio, instead the team has given you something to sit down, enjoy and actually get intrigued by.
HAHA-YO has recently released their EP, HEY., and if you missed it, it can be downloaded here for free!
Chill, Trap | MY†H – Summerboys
Posted by BP on July 18, 2013
This incredibly chill track by MY†H was a pleasure to stumble upon this evening. The dreamy beats take your mind on a journey. It’s a perfect Thursday night chill out song. Trap like this could become incredibly boring if not produced well, but MY†H put out a really refined piece here. This track is unfortunately just a preview, but be sure to pick up their EP, Summerboys93 when it drops on July 29th to Trapdoor Records!
House, Preview | Fehrplay – Talk To Me (Preview)
Posted by Middy on July 15, 2013
When Eric Prydz endorses you the way he has like for Fehrplay, you know there is some special talent in the guy. Fehrplay recently previewed the A-side to this two track EP, “Monte“, and now reveals what will be the B-side with “Talk To Me“. Like the A-side, “Talk To Me” shows the middle ground in Fehrplay’s sound that balances both big progressive tracks like “I Can’t Stop It” and darker, brooding techno tracks, like his The Child Of Lov remix. Preview them both below and look for the release in two weeks time on July 29th. Fehrpkay will be going on a small North American Pryda Friends tour alongside fellow label mate Jeremy Olander in August, so be sure to grab tickets today.

Chill, Cover | Elli Ingram – Poetic Justice (Cover)
Posted by admin on July 9, 2013
My affinity for female, British pop singers is just too much for me to handle sometimes. My newest crush goes by the name of Elli Ingram. Hailing from Brighton, England Elli has honed her talents from a very young age. Inspired by the likes of Amy Winehouse and Lauryn Hill, it’s easy to see where this vocalist gets her soulful, R&B flare.
The 19 year old soon-to-be star has just released her EP entitled Sober. The alcohol and drug-infused subject matter of the EP is one that you might not expect from a teenager, however, it becomes quite clear that Elli is not your average teen with a dream of stardom.
The standout from the EP, and song that originally peaked my interest, was her rendition of Kendrick Lamar and Drake’s “Poetic Justice”. The cover manages to pump endless emotion in to an already emotion-filled song, and gives the average music listener some great new material to belt out in the shower.
Ingram is young and has already proved herself to many major players in the industry, if she keeps progressing it will be no time at all before she is a household name.
Enjoy the cover and hop over to Elli’s website to grab the full EP.
