Hip-Hop | iLoveMakonnen and Sonny Digital team up on “Leave It There”

Posted by on July 28, 2015

Makonnen intrigues me very much due to his unique sound and lack of rapping. His voice is so different but all of his beats compliment his sound very well and keep me coming back for more. This time we have an excellent collaboration with Sonny Digital, who also produced I Don’t Sell Molly No More, and Makonnen. Straight up, Makonnen makes hits and this one is no different. Expect to be hearing this one around.

House | James Bay – Let It Go (Bearson Remix)

James Bay - Let It Go (Bearson Remix)As has been said before, tropical house is where it is at. One of the newcomers of the fast emerging sub-genre is Norwegian native Bearson (they all seem to be from the coldest places). We have brought you remixes from Bearson before, but this may be his best yet, showing some melodic poise over easy going percussion. James Bay’s vocals are the perfect compliment to what Bearson constructs with his instrumental. Best yet, the remix is free, so make sure you grab it below.

LahLahLandMusic is back with visuals to compliment her cover of Hozier’s Take me to Church. In case you missed the scoop the first time around, Leah Haxhi of LahLahLandMusic is an NYC singer/songwriter who blends powerful blues-like vocals and ad-libs over hip hop and electronic-infused beats. In this up-and-coming remix of Hozier’s “Take Me to Church” you can hear how Leah makes the song her own through sultry vocals.

No need to remind ya’ll that today its Valentine’s day, and the I.O.U. boys are feeling extra loving and generous so instead of supplying all of their female fans with roses and chocolate they showed love the best way they know how, by releasing an unreleased freebie to compliment the release of their album “The Soul & The Intellect.” Hopping on a Felix Wei track, Buck and Izee let you know that “if you’re going to jump in, take off your shoes” cause they plan on being here for a while. Get familiar and get that free download! This is a must listen and a must download!

Progressive House | Mat Zo Feat. Chuck D – Pyramid Scheme

Posted by on August 14, 2013

This is a tune and a half from the kid who never fails. Mat Zo has come through with another excellent melody and built a great song on top of it. I love the different ways that he uses Chuck D’s re-recorded vocals. Mat brings a lot of growling, saw wave sounds through to compliment his nicer, happier components. The movement from dark and deep to happy and bright is classic Zo style. This is a big tune and expect to hear it throughout the remainder of the festival season.
