Comet Blue may not be a name that you’re familiar with, but you’ve definitely danced to his tracks, as the man has worked with the likes of Will.i.Am, Britney Spears, and Azealia Banks, to name a few. His follow up release “Watch The Sun” to his catchy tune “Spaceship,” is a gorgeous little pop trop ditty, that will help you relax on this Wednesday afternoon. With only 20,000 plays in 3 months, this is one for you to discover, and if I was a producer, I might even give it a shot at a remix, it’s worth it. This is a must listen!

Not sure where Blood Orange came from, but I’m glad I listened to “Chamakay” this morning, it’s been on repeat all day! The man behind this New Wave RnB/Soul record is Dev Hynes who has written songs for the Chemical Brothers, Florence and the Machines, and Solange Knowles. His Wikipedia page also mentions that he is working with Britney Spears on her 8th album. Not sure how that will translate, but one thing’s for certain I love this sound, and I look forward to hearing more of his solo work! Hate to make the comparison, but if you like The Weeknd, you’re going to like this record! Must Listen!

This is a real Mashup. These two girls did an incredible job considering how difficult it is to be able to overlap two completely different songs together by just using their voices. I am a big fan of covers of “Toxic” because of how beautiful the lyrics actually are and they always turn out so much better than Britney Spears. The lyrics of both tracks provide enough versatility that I believe allowed these two master vocalists to create this soulful cover/mashup. Big thanks to our friend NAMMO for introducing us to these two amazing singers. Make sure to show Happie and Molly some love and check out their other great works.

The latest track from Mr. Rodgers is a huge party mix to David Guetta and Afrojack’s remix of Sweat. There are 12 different songs in this monster, including heaters from Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, Twista, Enrique Iglesias, Fatman Scoop, Ariez Onasis, Soulja Boy, Roscoe Dash, Rick Ross, Ludacris and Major Lazer. “Till the World Ends” has been remixed like no other. And yea, I know you’re sick of hearing the song. However, when someone like Miss Minaj (the new Queen of Rap/Pop?) teams up with the former Queen of Pop (Britney Spears), the track deserves some recognition.
These two female giants are, apparently, on tour together. It makes sense, then, that Minaj was chosen to jump on the remix. Ke$ha (who I have an undying hatred for) was unfortunately also brought into the track. Homegirl attempts to cover up her subpar looks with glitter and obnoxious song lyrics (always a fail).
REGARDLESS, this track is fire. Nicki’s opening verse gives this song just the kick it needed.
