After a one year long hiatus, the prodigal son has returned. Dylan Owen is back ladies and gentleman, and from my insider information, he is here to stay. After hearing this song, I am convinced that he’s here to stay. The Window Seat is a slow, laidback beat that allows Dylan to tell his story. I know it’s a cliche comparison, but Dylan really is an artist, using the beat as a canvas, to paint a picture with his words. I couldn’t be more impressed with his coming back track, but I know this is only the beginning. Dylan Owen will do big things in the music world, and Fresh New Tracks will always have the first scoop. Grab the track for free courtesy of Dylan, and be sure to check him out on Twitter and Facebook.

Chill, House | Eleftherios Mukuka ft Alan Thompson – Heart (Original Mix)

Posted by on July 25, 2013

I’ve been following Eleftherios Mukuka since the beginning of this year, and I’m honored to feature him on FNT. If I could compare his sound to a producer that’s out at the moment it’s Edward Maya, the man behind the hit song “Stereo Of Love.” And while I’m at it, even a bit of Robert Miles… You’ll need to press play to get this, but “Heart” is a beautiful track for the Summer with just the right instrumentation and vocals. I have no doubt we will be hearing more from the Berklee School of Music student very soon! If you want to be taken away, this is a must listen!

Posted by on May 19, 2013

537181_10151333108036021_703526544_nThomas Gold has been one of the most consistent guys in dance music. His live sets are always some of the best mainstage material, with impeccable mixing and his signature mashups that keep you on your toes at all times. He has become a favorite of Axwell and Axtone’s, recently putting together the Axtone 2012 compilation that featured plenty of his own material, new and old, in addition to showing off the label’s impressive recent discography, while also dusting off a critically acclaimed Essential Mix to finish off 2012. He has been a cornerstone of recent festivals such as UMF, Coachella & EDC New York and has taken his Fanfare tour all across the globe. He will be at Tomorrowland, for all you lucky festival goers who snuck in there in during the one second sellout. His remix for OneRepublic’s “Feel Again” was recently released for free, to the delight of everyone who had been waiting many months for it to be released. What he has coming up on the docket is relatively unknown, but he is known for his quality with each release and as he stated in terms of his productions, “There will be some surprises in 2013”.

We had the chance to talk to Thomas Gold a few months back about his plans for 2013, including the OneRepublic remix, his first gig, weird food experiences, possible label ventures and more. Check out his set from Ultra below and the interview after the jump.

On April 30th, Feature Cuts will release his debut EP entitled Vision through his own imprint Ne7work. To kick off the promotion for the EP, he just released the stream of the first single and title track on his Soundcloud. In his own words, the song “defines a new direction” and that ever since the beginning, his “production has been subconsciously adjusting to truly define a style that I can call my own.” “Vision” is hard hitting and a taste of what to expect from the EP.

Dubstep, Electro-House, Mix | Going Quantum: SPACE LACES Guest Mix

Posted by on March 16, 2013

I’m usually not a fan of listening to long mixes, but whenever you’re dealing with an artist who has no original releases under his name and is so exclusive, but somehow manages to have one of the craziest fan followings it’s hard to not post it. SPACE LACES is probably one of the biggest up and coming artist in the EDM scene, whether you knew about him a while ago, or are just learning about him this is just the beginning. This artist creates everything from nu-disco, to glitch, to dirty electro, all the way to the heaviest dubstep tracks you have ever imagined. People who follow him get up everyday just hoping for a release from this one of a kind artist.  I would recommend everyone check him out because it is only a matter of time before his name is everywhere in the EDM world.

Electro-House | Armin van Buuren & W&W – D# Fat

Posted by on February 25, 2013

D# fat

First things first: Armin van Buuren might have a production credit on “D# Fat,” but it ain’t trance. Nope, this collaboration with Dutch powerhouses W&W is electro to the core; in fact, it takes a leaf out of the book of “The Code” (another W&W special) and delivers a pounding bassline and hard-hitting, crunchy synth leads. Don’t let the piano riffs at the beginning fool you — this track packs a massive wallop and is sure to get dance floors moving as we head into the WMC home stretch. In all, “D# Fat” is a reflection of the next wave of progressive and electro house — it combines the best elements of both genres to great effect.
