Flume & Chet Faker’s EP is just around the corner, and in advance of the November 26th release date the collab has decided to give us another enticing taste of what’s to come. Languorous vocals and a hypnotic bassline make this one a totally intoxicating wind-down-at-the-end-of-the-night kind of listen. And for what it’s worth, Flume just took to Facebook to declare that “What About Us” is the single track he’s most excited for.

So there you have it. The 26th can’t come soon enough.

Electronic, Preview, Progressive House | Mat Zo – Lucid Dreams (ilan Bluestone & The M Machine Remixes) [Preview]

Posted by on November 19, 2013

Mat-Zo-Damage-Control

“Lucid Dreams” is already one of the biggest tracks on Mat Zo’s by-all-accounts-totally-awesome debut album, and now it gets the remix treatment from two of the scene’s most interesting players. Anjuna mainstay ilan Bluestone brings a bold, big room touch to Mat Zo’s dreamy original, while The M Machine are marching to their own drummer (as usual) with a a trappy, minimal bassline that gives the song a totally different vibe. The full package is set to drop on November 26th — just in time for Thanksgiving travels.

Bass, Techno | moodblanc – Vous

vous moodblanc

Tonight, Fresh New Tracks is providing you with something a little different than our usual musical offerings in an attempt to set your week off on the right foot. moodblanc is a Swedish, nu-disco duo with a sum-total of two songs in their SoundCloud catalog. Despite their non-expansive body of work, the two released songs are a treat for any pair of ears.

Be enchanted all the way to a terrace on the Hôtel de Paris, as “Vous” takes you on a continued journey through music…Each song that the group has released is a chapter in what appears to be a trilogy of work. “Vous” leaves the speaker/lover within the song in a vulnerable position, admitting that “it’s hard, impossible even, to be happy alone.”

Hopefully, the wait for Chapter Three won’t be too long, but in the meantime enjoy the soothing Daft-Punk-esk vocals and entrancing bassline.

For those of you who have been a little out of the loop, half of Penthouse Penthouse got arrested for trying to get his DJ equipment out of a warehouse that was being raided by police. The bad news: his bail is crazy high (around $20,000). The good news, however (if you could call it that), is a lot of artists have been putting out new music in an effort to raise money to help the homie out. So, Penthouse’s label Team Supreme just released a mixtape (which can be found on Bandcamp HERE) with a bunch of donated tracks from tons of talented, supportive artists. Put your part in, and make sure to cop a download of this remix of Elos’ track “Auto” by Djemba Djemba and King Henry. It has a bassline you won’t forget – definitely a Saturday-night-slap. #FREEPENTHOUSE.

Bass, Electro | Ghost Hunna – Look Out!

ghost hunna - look out

Ghost Hunna’s Gucci is so flossy and his broads are all so bossy, the perfect combination for a spastic new song (I think). Featured on Fresh New Tracks about a month ago for the ambient-house production, “Talkin’ That“, Hunna has returned with a totally new and bass-heavy medley. “Look Out!” begins with a deep-rooted bassline, but slowly unravels out in to the ‘Spazz House’ party track that we were promised. And, although some of the components of the song can get slightly repetitive, the track is a repository of enough different sounds to keep it incredibly entertaining.

A +1 must also be award for proper integration of Zelda gameplay sounds. Ghost Hunna has slowly, but surely begun to kill the game, a realization which is hard to deny. Grab the free download below and be sure to give him a shout on Twitter!

Electro | HIs Majesty Andre – Hymn (Tim Gunter remix)

The only thing missing from this brand new jam by Tim Gunter, is a “damn son, where’d you find this one” tag in the beginning of the song. Taking a song with a lot of groove and rythmn, Tim decided to go a little slap-happy with the bass and boy does it sound good. Tim had a little something to say about this song:

I recently came across His Majesty Andre’s stuff via Pandora and his track “Hymn” really caught my ear. Hymn is a Daft Punk-esque (think One More Time) jam that uses a sampled orchestra, chopped vocals samples, and a driving bassline to get the listener moving. I come from a hip-hop background so I decided to speed the track up and give it a dirty south hip hop feel with 808 drums, chopped samples and lots of bass. I even added a sweet guitar solo at the end, just for kicks.

Make sure to download this and all of Tim’s other tracks, they’re meant for your weekends.
