Electro-House | Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Coone & Lil Jon – Madness

Posted by on January 31, 2013

This is what I would call the Showtek effect. Hardstyle has now become cool in electro house because they made some fat tracks. However that does not mean we will see hardstyle break into the mainstream because let’s be honest for most people hardstyle is like that one friend you have — you can hang out with with them in small doses, but too much and you are wondering why you liked it the first place. “Madness” involves a bit too much yelling albiet coherent yelling from Lil Jon and a ridiculous instrumental from the Belgian Djs, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and hardstyle producer Coone combining big room interludes, hardstyle kicks and powerful synth leads that embody the title of the track. Coming off of an outstanding 2012 and with “Wakanda” on the way on Axtone, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike are making a push into the upper realm of the dance music elite.

Coming off of their debut on Axtone records with their remix of Discopolis “Committed To Sparkle Motion“, the dutch duo make their return to Spinnin Records where they made their breakout with the single “All By Myself”. “Redux” follows the same grain as their previous tracks with festival sized drops and soaring melodies and though they may take some flack for not switching it up enough, their sound is so melodic and uplifting, it is just fine. Check back here on March 8th for the release.

Progressive House | Thomas Gold – MIAO

Thomas Gold finishes off a year that has seen his his rise among the ranks at Axtone, mixing its 2012 compilation, his highly successful essential mix debut, a flurry of remixes and singles, and now his debut on Calvin Harris’ imprint, Fly Eye Records, “MIAO”. Thomas Gold gets right into the club ready drop of pulsing pitched chords and quick alternating snare and evolves the track with a slow melodic interlude that beckons in that same pulsing drop from before. He is about to embark on his winter North American tour, so be sure to check him out at a city near you.

Progressive House | Discopolis – Committed to Sparkle Motion (DubVision Remix)

Wow, just wow. No announcement at all, Axtone just unleashes this beast from dutch duo, DubVision on the world. Maybe it is the fact that it is my dad’s birthday who hates dance music, or maybe not, but this ID that has been known to the world as “ID (DubVision remix)” for so long finally see its official release. The power and energy in this track is among the best released this year with its punching bass line and soaring melody that meshes impeccably with Discopolis’s vocals. It is true that the melody that is similar to “All By Myself”, there are still noticeable differences that make this one of the peak time moments in an Axwell set.

Electro-House | The Aston Shuffle Vs. Tommy Trash – Sunrise (Won’t Get Lost) Tommy Trash Version

Axtone has done it again with yet another dynamite release. Tommy Trash fresh off of his Beatport number one, “Reload” with Sebastian Ingrosso that Nervo proclaimed “Everything sounds small against it”, is back and switching Mafia member labels with his new release, The Aston Shuffle Vs. Tommy Trash – Sunrise (Won’t Get Lost). Combining the number one single in Australia from The Aston Shuffle with Tommy Trash’s signature grungy bass lines and eclectic pitched melodies, this track will leave a lasting impression on the end of 2012 and into 2013. The song also says it is the “Tommy Trash Version”, which could be a harmless label or it could mean there is another version of this to come.
