Yesterday Sammy Adams released his long-awaited Homecoming EP. Immediately shooting to #3 on the iTunes hip-hop charts and #8 overall, and climbing. Out of the 6 tracks on the EP there is one for everybody, from party songs to the ones for the ladies. These past few weeks have been pretty exciting as far as music is concerned, literally one great release after another: Halcyon Days Deluxe, Kiss Land, 20/20 Part 2, Nothing Was The Same, Pure Heroine, shit I hardly get to finish one album before it’s time to download another. Well make some room in your schedule and hard drive, kiddos, because today I present to you Hot Sugar’s latest release, Made Man, and once you start this EP you’re not gonna be able to turn away from it.
I was initially turned on to the New York City based producer by his eclectic remixes and fresh, innovative beats. Beats which are developed by the “Associative Music” technique, which essentially means Hot Sugar captures and records sounds from literally any and everywhere and transforms them beautifully into the tracks you hear now. Pretty wild. “If I point to a butterfly or a fire hydrant and say, ‘Hey, you’re in my band now, so play this,’ it will do it and no one can legally stop me,” said Hot Sugar, more formally known as Nick Koenig, in an interview with Complex.
But back to the EP, the whole thing flows so well and has this juicy, addicting vibe. Artsy, grungy, and totally rad. Like, Gorillaz meets A$AP Rocky meets Handsome Boy Modeling School in a Brooklyn subway station rhyme-spittin’ showdown. Each track features word play from artists such as, but not limited to, Big Baby Ghandi, Chippy Nonstop, Heems, Antown, and Kitty. My personal favorite? “*In & Out*,” featuring KOOL A.D.
when i put MiDi Murder EP out last year, all of NYC’s power disappeared for a week. This time the government shut down for Made Man.

Bloodsport…Great Movie. This first track is so SICK. Starts off slow and calm, but if you have listened to dubstep before you know whats coming. The drop on this track is AWESOME. Two faced is the best way to describe the tracks transitions from slow beats to hard drops.

Those of you who are familiar with the old Castlevania games wont be the only ones to enjoy this. This track incorporates the games classic beat with some SWEET drops.

I have said this many times before, I am a big Minnesota fan. “Bass Power” was already a KILLER dubstep track, The Frim just made it a little better.

OH…MY…GOD! This remix is AWESOME. Everyday was already one of the sickest dubstep tracks out. I was surprised to see that Netsky did this remix, but once I listened to this track I was blown away. Netsky just set this track ablaze, PURE FIRE.

Savoy killed it at the SnowBall, can’t wait for this track to drop.
I have been waiting for a SICK remix of this track, finally. The beat on this track is heavy, but not enough to turn away those of you who are partial to the softer dubstep.

“Still Ballin” is one of my favorite Tupac tracks. When ever I see remixes of old track that I love I get nervous for fear they will be ruined for me. I was so happy to see that MiMOSA did this one because it turned out to be a GREAT remix.

Major Lazer remixes are always SICK. This one keeps that nice reggae vibe while adding some CHILL dubstep beats.

Adele is an INCREDIBLE musician, and to make remix of this track is like a dream come true. I love how the build up to the dubstep maintains most of what the original track offered. Even once it drops this remix still keeps what we all love in her tracks.

You rarely see a good remix of another remix, but when an artist can pull it off you get AWESOME tracks like this one.

BIGLIFE put up the original of this track a few weeks ago and it was straight FIRE. Phil Monnerat makes some nice electro remixes. This is by far one of the best hes made. He spices up the beat a little bit and of course amps these HOT vocals.
