Electronic | DEMUR Strikes Again With Controversy, Releases New Song

Posted by on July 21, 2016

DEMUR is climbing the ranks in American dance music. Based out of LA, the propaganda-themed artist who isn’t particularly open about his identity, has shared a handful of graphic art pieces, as well as songs, that clearly call out elements that occur in the industry that he isn’t pleased with.

Tropical House | OOVEE’s “Spirits Up” Will Warm Your Heart & Is Perfect For Summer

Posted by on July 2, 2016

OOVEE is breaking into the American dance music scene right now. His release “Free Spirits” hits all the right areas with zest. The duo, who are based in Europe, have a history that allows “Free Spirit” to make sense. The duo are open to many genres and have received support across the board (from many dance sub-genres), “Free Spirits” embodies the mission OOVEE self-accepts to deliver to their audience.

Chill | Spirix’s “Something About You (feat. ALIUS)” Hits You Right In The Feels

We’ve officially entered a different realm in American music culture, if you’re making big-room, progressive or electro, you’re left behind. If you’re making genres popularized in the last 2 years, you’re competing.

One artist doing more than just competing is Spirix, his chill house sound pushes the limits of elements currently trending within the realm of deep house, future house, melodic house ect. The vocal wasn’t a bad add either, just another part that has become a new standard for dance music artists in general, but is well suited in Spirix’s case – its not just about instrumentals, its about a full experience, and vocals within “Something About You (feat. ALIUS)” raise the quality of the experience tenfold.

Dirty. Harry. A member of Canada’s rising supply of hip-hop entrepreneurs, Harm Franklin has raised the bar and delivers ‘The Condo.’ This one has been on repeat for the past week coming right in time to complement this 30+ degree weather (that’s 80F+ for my American friends). With a beat this heavy I’m confident you’ll agree that this one makes the cut for your summer jams playlist. Join me, turn up the knob, and have a taste of this one.

House | Chocolate Puma Takes On “Treasured Soul”

Posted by on February 2, 2015

Chocolate Puma. I can’t even pronounce their name the American way. I say it like Oliver Heldens says ito on every episode of “Heldeep Radio” SHOCKOLOT PUMAH. It’s so fun to say, but I digress. Michael Calfan’s “Treasured Soul” is a full of feel good vibes. It’s a rising tune, which Chocolate Puma has brilliantly remixed that premiered with Danny Howard. Chocolate Puma. I need more Chocolate Puma.

House | Cleavage – Prove (Official Music Video)

Cleavage’s “Prove” on Spinnin’ Records is a tune. Little known secret is that it’s been out for a good while. By good while I mean a year or two. That doesn’t matter, because the video dropped last week and it’s already amassed 400,000 plays, and deservedly so. I don’t understand the video one bit (probably because I’m an American simpleton) but this groovy disco-inspired single deserves all the spins.

It’s so hard to make a festival friendly banger without losing credibility. The line between cliche and timeless is extremely thin. (How Galantis does this is beyond me, but I digress.) Somehow, A-Trak has found a way to balance the two, creating “Push” featuring Andrew Wyatt of Miike Snow fame. The result is truly unforgettable, as “Push” has the potential to break through not only in a dance space full of predictable anthems, but also on American radio as well. A-Trak. Andrew Wyatt. Fire flames.
