Trap | RYDEN ft. Chase Allen’s “Dear God” Will Make You Want To Fix America

Posted by on October 4, 2016

I’ve never felt a song fill me with a passion to go do something about the injustices in America, but RYDEN and Chase Allen’s “Dear God” speaks for a generations of brokenness, packaged together with a dark rap/trap feel that a has an almost gothic-like vibe sprinkled within. Most songs have a fiction story or theme embedded within, this tune speaks complete truth. Giving it more authenticity than most.

This is the first time RYDEN and Chase Allen have popped up on my radar, but I’m sure it won’t be the last. It seems this is a rebirth of sorts for RYDEN, stoked to see whats next. Listen to the track in full here.

Few countries have been able to pump out superstars quite like Australia has in recent years. Artists like Flume, Wave Racer, and Snakehips championed the rising future bass sound in America, while others like Anna Lunoe brought her signature brand of bass-y house stateside. This influx of Australian talent has led to the emergence of a new class of Australian artists ready to make their mark on dance music. The Perth-based duo, TIME PILOT, draw inspiration from the likes of Flume, Mr. Carmack, and Snakehips, and these inspirations shine through on his debut track, “Zulu,” as the duo intricately blends their “retro” style with thumping kicks and a booming drop.

While the dawn of summer in America is the unofficial kickoff to festival season, summer in Europe signals the beginning of Ibiza’s renowned pool party season. Each year, hundreds of thousands of passionate dance music fans make the trek to the dance-centric island off of the coast of Spain to catch one of the many superstar DJs who hold a residency at one of Ibiza’s many nightclubs. This week, Hardwell announced his return to Ibiza for his second summer residency at the Ushuaia Beach Hotel, the world’s largest open air nightclub. When Mysteryland touched down in Bethel Woods last year, it brought one of Europe’s most iconic festival brands to America. Mysteryland has always offered a nearly unmatched blend of music and art, making it one of the most popular festival in the world, and Mysteryland USA was no different. This year, for the second iteration of Mysteryland in the states, the festival will be featuring the musical talents of Kygo, Dillon Francis, Porter Robinson, Damian Lazarus, and many more, as well as welcoming the return of the Smorgusburg food festival, a refreshing aspect that only serves to further separate Mysteryland from the typical festival. While it’s a monumental task to capture the ethos and essence of the twenty-year-old festival brand in a short four minute video, Mysteryland’s brand new trailer highlights their signature stage design, breathtaking shots of Bethel Woods, and gives insight into the festival’s long past.

Alternative, Chill, House | XYLØ – America (Vasta Remix)

Posted by on April 3, 2015

I recently heard the original of this tune and I fell in love, and then this remix came out of nowhere from unknown Miami newcomer Vasta. I spent some time trying to connect the dots and to learn some more about this artist, but still have yet to find any. The massive piano’s and the catchy house drums pair perfectly with brother and sister duo XYLØ, one of the most buzzing acts on the internet!  I think of pool parties and springtime, and just want to chant America each time I hear the melodies. I hope you dig this as much as I do, and make sure you grab the free download above!
