Ambient, Electro-House, Electronic, Pop | Mansions on the Moon – Somwhere Else Tonight
Posted by yabishcic on August 9, 2014
For anyone who has been a follower of Mansions on the Moon, it is a very exciting time. Though they’ve had solid releases in the past, nothing has been quite as epic as what is about to happen. They’ve teased us with the collaborative mix they did with DJ Benzi and taunted us with their EP released almost a year ago now, but for the very first time ever Mansions on the Moon is releasing an ALBUM. They’ve let us get a little glimpse for the rest to come with the release of “Don’t Tell“, and now “Somewhere Else Tonight”. Though the songs take completely different turns, the album as a whole is to be nothing less of an accomplishment. For now you can sit on these two singles, but make sure to catch the release of their self-titled album because its gonna be BIG.
Electro-House, FYI | Does Every Vinai Song Sound The Same?
Posted by Middy on August 7, 2014
It is a hypothetical question to get your attention because the answer is yes, and here is why. I saw a side-by-side comparison a while ago and didn’t think too much of it, just an isolated incident of two songs that were made at the same time and released over the span of a few months. Then this Magnetic Mag article popped up in news feed today and I realized that this is much worse than I thought. So I decided to some more digging to try and get the full story and man it is rough. They all have the same kick, the same notes, the same Pryda snare at the exact moments in the drop — its almost like if you lined up the songs they would sound like one song. Oh wait, somebody did that and it is somewhat startling to hear the results.
To be fair, artists spend years developing a “signature” sound and once they find it, they aren’t going to deviate too far from it, especially in the early stages of their professional career. However, in this case, you see a cop and paste mentality, where almost no care goes into creating a new complete idea with each song. Instead it is a lazy reliance on what has worked in the past with no attempt to take risks or try something new. Us calling out Vinai for the pretty blatant lack of creativity probably won’t do much to dent their meteoric rise in the last year, that is up to the fans. It is up to them to decide whether or not they want to continue hearing the same song over and over again and the time when they say enough is enough may come sooner than Vinai would like.
Electro-House | Chris Avantgarde – Fuel
Posted by Mel on July 28, 2014
Chris Avantgarde inaugurates his newly formed label the proper way with an exceptionally strong first release. Produced by the founder himself, “Fuel” is a powerful, gritty, highly energetic track and probably his best to date. It is also one of the most well produced tracks I have heard in a while. Chris has a unique sound and his label is also unique, because all of their releases are free of charge. Never one to settle on generic, Chris Avantgarde and his new label are sure to be among those to watch going forward.

Initially previewed a little under a month ago on his Soundcloud, “C.U.B.A”, Calvin Harris’ newest track is finally out. This track is huge and if you have yet to hear it, you need to promptly fix that and then go download it from somewhere.

Electro-House, Events | Feed Me Psychedelic Journey EP + North American Tour
Posted by Middy on July 11, 2014
Jon Gooch aka Feed Me or Spor is finally getting ready to go back on the road. After months of working on new material for his various monikers, Feed Me is back out on the road for the summer festival season and has an EP to play for the ride. “Psychedelic Journey” encapsulates the controlled and refined madness that Feed Me brings to the table, ignoring genre tags and gives you the most complex, heavy stuff you will find. It is another master stroke from Feed Me as we wait for already announced album from Feed Me & Spor at some point. Stream three of the four tracks below and grab the EP on Beatport or iTunes.
Go stream the final tune of the EP “Without Gravity” over on DA.
With the EP he is getting ready to go on tour with a revamped version of the teeth. I have yet to see the teeth, though I have seen Feed Me twice live, so this is going to be a doozy of a tour. He is bringing along supporting acts Treasure Fingers, Delta Heavy, Le Castle Vania and Sotto Voice signees, Tijani & Zeros. Check out the dates after the jump and make sure you grab your tickets here.

Pegboard Nerds are always releasing progressive house electro bangers to rage to, and “Here It Comes” is no different, reminiscent of my days out in Southern France, near the Spanish border, listening to melodic macina music: epic and hard; so if you’re just waking up, pour yourself some coffee, press play and get yourself inspired! Out via Monstercat, “Here It Comes” is a must listen and support by copping it on Beatport!

Electro-House | Live City – Shot Calla

Their remix for September “Cry For You” was absolute jam, so not to rest on their laurels, Live City, residents of Jam City, are back with another tune. Like their previous efforts on Lift Off & Brooklyn Fire, they get down and dirty with a strong hint of Melbourne. The bounce is coming your way and quickly so hop on board before it runs you over.
