Interviews | Nardwuar vs. Young Jeezy
Posted by A on March 30, 2012
“Especially not in the pool. The only thing I ref in the pool is the women.”
Says Young Jeezy, regarding his swimming abilities. I’m not surprised, as Young Jeezy is likely too busy selling drugs to learn how to swim. That Young Jeezy sure has a captivating personality, as Nardwuar pulls out the usual stops to talk about things that happened ten years ago. No wonder why Jeezy’s “TM103” flopped. Just another rapper taking themselves way too seriously. Kanye shrug. Below are my favorite comments:

I caught up with Mike Stud while he was in Minneapolis, MN on his Toast To Tommy Tour. He has to be one of the chillest guys that I’ve met. He was down with all his fans at the show, and took time to meet pretty much everyone that wanted. Not only was Mike Stud an awesome dude but DJ Fader was as well. These two as a duo on the road are unbeatable. They know how to have a good time and that’s just what we did!

I also sat down with Mod Sun after the show. He was one of the opening acts and definitely “lived” it as he would say. He’s a great artist from Minnesota and definitely one of my favorite out right now. This interview was a bit out of control, but a great time nonetheless. Yes, I’ll admit we had more than one drink before we filmed this! It’s funny to see how my personality did a 360 in a matter of hours between filming these interviews. I brought up the topic of favorite upcoming artist(s) and it ended up turning into our favorite artists, haha. Shouts to Tayyib Ali, Sammy Adams, and Cam Meekins on this one!? Enjoy.
Shoutout to EXP Promotions and Freshletes!

(Watch in 720p or 1080p)
Just last week FNT had an exclusive opportunity to link up with Philly’s own, Tayyib Ali, for an interview prior to his headlining show in Boston. We discussed his upcoming project, recent and upcoming collabs, the plethora of artists coming up from PA, what he does outside of music & more. Big ups to Boston’s finest clothing and kicks boutique, Laced, for giving us an opportunity to catch Tayyib during his in store meet and greet earlier in the day.
In other news, Tayyib’s debut video off his last mixtape, Keystone State of Mind, surpassed 500,000 hits on YouTube today so be sure to check that if you haven’t already.

Compilation, House, Interviews, Review, Videos | Jaytech Interview + Anjunadeep Vol 4
Posted by Middy on February 27, 2012
We have a lot for you in this post. We have an exclusive interview with the Australian Dj / producer, James Cayzer, better known as Jaytech, one of the mixers on Anjunedeep Volume 4, which just released today, as well as an exclusive download of one of Jaytech’s more popular songs “Djembe”. As Jaytech explains in the interview, Anjunadeep is the sister label of Anjunabeats, the label run by the trance super group Above & Beyond. Anjuandeep deals with everything melodic house and this can be seen on this mix compilation. The first CD was mixed by James Grant and the second was mixed by Jaytech. The first CD has more of a techy, deep house feel with some great groovy tracks from guys like Tom Middleton (no relation to me), Andrew Bayer, Dusky and more. There are old releases and new including Andrew Bayer & James Grant’s remix of Above & Beyond – Prelude, Two songs from Dusky, Andrew Bayer – You and many more.
The second CD is more of the melodic house signature of Anjunadeep with some heavy trance influences in some of the songs. The second CD is chock full of quality tracks from Solarity, Suspect 44 and their uplifting track “Neon Feel”, Oliver Smith, Andrew Bayer and more. Jaytech premiers some new tracks on here with “Synergy” and “Atlantic”. The entire compilation send us on a journey of sounds and emotions with the music through a variety of tech, deep, and melodic house songs with different sounds and styles from groovy and funky rhythms to songs with more trance influences. This compilation has something for everyone who likes EDM and after the jump check out the interview with Jaytech that has been in the works for a while but just came to fruition. Also below are two mix previews, buy links, social media links, and the exclusive song from Jaytech, “Djembe”.

Interviews | Aer Interview
Posted by dshaq on February 20, 2012
Before you say anything, yes that is my beautiful face in the presence of the awesomely chill duo of Aer. I was fortunate enough to meet up for an interview with Carter and David before their show at Reggie’s Rock Club in Chicago last Saturday. It’s pretty scary to think these guys, who are a year older than me, are already an EP and two mixtapes deep and are collecting a continuously growing fan base. FNT will represent our questions and C will stand for Carter and D for David.
FNT: How has Sam Adams’ success impacted you since you guys are from the same town?
D:He’s set an example of what you can do coming from a small town and blowing up on the internet and just running with it.
C: Ya he’s a good mentor for getting advice and a good person to talk to.
FNT: How was it like to hit #1 on iTunes? What were you’re reactions?
D: It didn’t really settle in like most of our other stuff. I can’t describe it haha.
C: It was crazy to see it rise from it being like 26 then going to #1 in the same day. Pretty
indescribable.
House, Interviews | Neon Trees – Animal (Michael Brun Rework) + Exclusive Interview
Posted by GMONEY on February 8, 2012
Michael Brun bringing the heat once again. This one is a revamp of the already catchy tune Animal by Neon Trees. You guys loved the preview, you have waited patiently for the release, and now you finally get rewarded! Within this track we have smooth, perfectly pitched synths along with a complimentary bass and recognizable lyrics. A trio of excellence if you ask me. Kudos to Brun for keeping his own musical style intact on yet another interesting project. To hear more from Michael Brun, check out his Facebook and Twitter pages!
