Chill, Dubstep | Gemini – Fire Inside (Mr FijiWiji Remix)
Posted by Mach on April 16, 2013
It is just a natural connection that when I think beautiful melodic tunes that Mr FijiWiji comes to mind. This is the most incredible remix of “Fire Inside” to date in my opinion. Mr FijiWiji’s intro is simple yet elegant, calmly carrying you like a river carries fish to the ocean. The drop happens to be one of the more breathtaking oceans I’ve ever heard of.

House | Nicky Romero & Fedde Le Grand – Sparks (Stars Above Remix)
Posted by Mach on April 16, 2013
I love the little bit of Trance that Stars Above sneaks into his House tracks. It keeps the vibe energized and not sounding like every other House track artists throw together. The first drop is just a tease, but the last drop on this remix takes your imagination to the festival scene. Stars Above threw together a true grand finale, not something that is usually experienced in a single track. Below is another new remix from Stars Above that uses that same energy, but put to the max. Enjoy.

Hip-Hop, RnB | Drake Ft. James Fauntleroy – Girls Love Beyonce
Posted by Mach on April 16, 2013
Drake isn’t wrong, girls absolutely love Beyonce. He can’t lie though, we all know he likes Beyonce as well, seeing as he has performed Destiny’s Child’s “Say My Name” live a few times now. Honestly, I think Roc Nation’s James Fauntleroy does the hook much better. This has nothing to do with if I think Beyonce or Destiny’s Child sucks, but since the originals release recording systems have improved greatly. James Fauntleroy’s voice portrayed a lot of emotion through just those few lines in addition to Drake’s clearly improved ability to tell a story, leaving us with an incredible free download. Much respect for Drake and how he has gone about releasing his new works. If you haven’t the chance to listen to them, I highly recommend you give each a chance.
Trap | M!NT & Samples – Collider
Posted by Mach on April 15, 2013
808 Trap for the win from M!NT and Ben Samples. This is what most Trap should sound like. I can’t stand listening to a song full of bleeps, bloops, and blips with the artist calling that Trap. If that is actually Trap then my phone is just as good of a producer as the rest when I get texts. This original is piece of art, massive props to Samples and M!NT.
Dubstep, Glitch | Angus Green – Dirty Money
Posted by Mach on April 13, 2013
Epic jam from Angus Green. Dubstep, Glitch-Hop, Neuro, and Grime, this original has got it all. It is always cool when someone raps over a bass filled track like Omar Linx is known for doing. Big ups to Angus Green for this one.

Hip-Hop, House | Funky Friday #6
Posted by Mach on April 12, 2013
Sorry about the absence of Funky Friday last week, but here we go. This is such a great freebie from Marvel Years on Gravitas Recordings. I wasn’t expecting this to be so mellow and include a little Hip-Hop soul. Once the beat takes off you will fall in love with song. The track is part of a free 5 track EP from Marvel Years, “Nowhere But Up,” available below. After listening to the whole EP, I highly recommend it. It’s funk-tastic. Happy downloading.

I wish Louis La Roche was more popular, I love almost everything he has done. I am sick of hearing Ellie Goulding at this point, but this remix is more than enough to be able to bare her. In fact, Louis did an exceptional job with the instrumentals of this remix.
This last artist is someone I literally just came across. Cee-Roo is Funk and Soul. Most of his music is a few months old but that wont stop from sharing a few favorites from him.
Dubstep | One Republic – If I Lose Myself (PRFFTT & Svyable Remix)
Posted by Mach on April 9, 2013
Since their decision to collaborate together on an official basis, I have watched these two go from fairly decent solo artists to becoming a force to reckon with. “If I lose Myself” is a great orignal, frontman Ryan Tedder’s voice has always been absorbed by the hearts of many. The most common mistake I have seen made on other remixes of this track is that with these vocals you really don’t want to do too much that could overpower them and take away their effect on the listener. The most important factor to this being a great remix is that this duo made sure Ryan’s voice was heard. PRFFTT & Svyable’s reworked instrumentals are a great compliment to the story that unfolds in this track.
