Electro-House | Afrojack – Rock The House
Posted by Middy on July 16, 2012
Afrojack did not only drop jaws at UMF when he played “Top Of The World” for the first time, he also put them back down on the floor when he premiered this track with Lil John yelling all over the place, telling you just how special it was to avoid rips of the track. Afrojack has risen to the level of a global superstar, occasionally crossing over into pop and doing songs with pop superstars in the US, while remaining true to his Dutch style and still cranking out those bleeps and bloops that caused people to fall in love with him in the first place. The guitar melody, combined with the massive, big room chord progression provide the perfect build into the hard electro / dutch drop that will Rock Your House and your neighbor’s as well. He also shows off his creativity and production skill with an interesting percussion and piano interlude providing a whole array of styles all within the one song. Another fantastic production from Afrojack and as they say, “If it ain’t Dutch, it ain’t much”.

Electro-House, Progressive House | My Digital Enemy & Rob Marmot – African Drop (Tom Staar Remix)
Posted by Middy on July 5, 2012
Tom Staar takes this Ibiza ready, island track and fills it with festival fury. He keeps much of the Caribbean vibes with the vocal bits and funky percussion in the build, but once we get to the drop, the track totally changes tempo and becomes something entirely different. With its grungy undertones, a fast firing percussion, almost like being shot out of a cannon, and a thumping bass, the largesse of this track will be heard worldwide. Already supported by Alesso, Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso, this one is bound to become a late festival hit as the season comes into full swing this July and August.

Also included is the latest remix from Moiez of Jetpack Jones’ single “Jetpack Lifestyle”. It does pretty well with keeping much of the same chill vibes of the original track (a quality track) and adds an uplifting drop, creating a nice blend of house and hip hop. May not be his best effort we have seen to date, but definitely a good track.
Electro | Afrojack – Lionheart

The newest release off his own record label, Wall Recordings, “Lionheart” by Afrojack is not for the weak of heart. Sick production work and that driving bass make this a perfect festival song. Gets crazy at 2:16. 3.25/5
