Dubstep | Ellie Goulding – Starry Eyed (MINNESOTA REMIX VIP)
Posted by Mach on July 28, 2012
I have been waiting impatiently for this VIP to release, it is 1000 times better than Minnesota’s original remix and that was still good. The drop is awesome, not what you are used to in Dubstep but a style that Minnesota has been using for quite some time now.
Drum & Bass | DnB….Sundays?
Posted by Sev on July 9, 2012
Sorry for another delay in the DnB post this week, but you know what summer does to you. What is this, a release from Skrillex? Say it isn’t so. Let the haters hate, but you can’t deny the talent and ingenuity. Releasing Birdy Nam Nam’s EP on July 17th through OWLSA, rumor has it that this heavy DnB remix will be accompanied by Skrillex’s trapt out remix as well. The second drop on this remix is disgusting to say the least.
Top producers Loadstar have just released their EP Passenger / Bomber including a dubstep remix to Passenger by Culprate. I have been waiting for this release for some time now. In Passenger , we see some more aggresive synths used, compared to in Bomber. Also Passenger is leaning more towards a drumstep style track as well. Both tracks are outstanding in their unique styles.
Who doesn’t love a good VIP remix to a track? Mach was quick on catching this VIP when it went up on Soundcloud. TC revamping his well known track Bass By The Tonne and dosing up the DnB on this one. Still keeping the main part of the originals is what lured me into liking it so much.
Dieselboy continuing his giveaway of DnB tracks this week with one from a few years back. It is a remix provided by Gridlock, but as long as it is good and hasn’t been heard by too many people who cares how long ago it was released. Nice weekend vibes from this track.
To cap it all off we have a nice smooth liquid drum and bass track from Cray and nExow. Those graceful instruments combined with the quick pace of DnB always provide the best state of euphoria.
Dubstep | AFK – Ripper [The Frim + AFK VIP]
Posted by Sev on July 5, 2012
Rising artist The Frim has teamed up with the heavy hitting AFK to recreate a VIP to a fan favorite track from AFK, Ripper. If you have seen any of Datsik’s recent shows then you have heard some of The Frim’s latest tracks that should be releasing on Firepower Records soon. Although he is more of a low key artist, the tracks that he produces are monstrous. Of couse AFK needs no introduction, because he has been destroying stages for a few years now. It is crazy that Rusko still drop’s the original at his shows even though it has been out for almost a year now. This remix is more of a modernization of the original, because throughout the original we saw the “Yoi” synth that was such a hit a few months ago, but now the guys have revamped the synths and the arrangement to create this epic VIP.
Dubstep, Trap | Minnesota – Hold Up (Minnesota VIP)
Posted by Mach on July 3, 2012
Minnesota has made some of my favorite remixes. This newest work from him is a VIP remix/mashup. Mashing together Dr. Dre’s “The Next Episode” and Minnesota’s “Hold Up.” This VIP is awesome. Minnesota has been playing at a lot of his live shows and the feed back on it has been nothing short of incredible.
Minnesota has also stated that once he reaches 20k likes on Facebook he will release the VIP of his remix of Ellie Goulding’s “Starry Eyed,” which the original remix is provided below.
Dubstep | Foreign Beggars — Still Getting It ft Skrillex (VIP Mix)
Posted by Sev on May 18, 2012

Looks like we have a nice little freebie VIP mix from Skrillex and Foreign Beggars today courtesy of Spin. Most people had believed this to be an early demo version when bits of it were leaked on the internet a few months ago. This version is a little bit of a toned down version to the released with some harsher, high pitched sounds compared to the clean melodies and noises in the released version. The released version trumps this version easily, but it is nice to get a glimpse at what could have been if the other were to never have existed. Knowing Skrillex though he has to have 10 versions of the same song. If you don’t believe me here you go CLICK HERE.
Dubstep | R Rated #29
Posted by Sev on May 17, 2012
Due to some technical difficulties yesterday, I wasn’t able to make it back to the site when it was back online so we had to push back R Rated unfortunately. No worries though, that just means more bass driven bangers for you guys to enjoy. For example this amazing VIP was given away on UKF today by DC Breaks. Given that the original was a Dnb masterpiece, this VIP dubstep mix utilizes the vocals to the max with some new synth additions along the amazing bassline melody. Next up we check out some of the previews and released tracks of the week. Ajapai has been doing work on Rottun records releasing a contstant flow of heavy hitting tunes. You can add his latest single to that list, which is comprised of some aggressive sounds almost resembeling some of the sounds from Downlinks – Factory.
We haven’t heard much from Mojo since his release of Carnival , but now it looks like his EP for Buygore is near completion with previews up on their Soundcloud. I’m kind of bummed this collaboration isn’t featured on the EP because of it’s a one of a kind heavy hitting drop. I’ll be on the lookout for an official release for this one.
Toning it down just a little bit on this next remix; TYR brings a top of the line remix to Calvin Harris’s latest collaboration with Ne-Yo entitled Let’s Go. Being that it is for a remix competition he isn’t allowed to give this remix out just yet. Each drop in this track is different and pretty dope which was why I had to feature it this week. There not insanely crazy drops, but they’re a style that resembles a fusion between old school Flux Pavillion and Nero drops we used to see. The second drop definitely won me over on this one. Be sure to vote for this remix on the Beatport remix competition HERE.
Time for some free downloads so READ ON.
Dubstep | Sub Focus ft. Kenzie May – Falling Down [Remixes]
Posted by Sev on May 15, 2012
Sub Focus proving over and over again as to why he is one of the best in the business with his latest remix EP that he couldn’t help but be a part of. Contributing to this EP as if his original wasn’t near perfection, he comes back with an even more stellar VIP mix to one of his latest Dubstep anthems, Falling Down. Skrillex has been smashing stages with this latest VIP leaving the fans wondering whos it was, well now everyone can have it for themselves. Also featured on the EP we have the heavy hitting xKore bringing his grimey synths, but changing it up with a more lively drop that pops with the melody. We don’t usually see this style of melody from him which caught me off guard. Last we have Nick Thayer’s remix, which was a disappointing one. I knew he would take a shot at a Moombahton style remix, but it didn’t turn out for the best. The sounds lacked flow and the original track was lost in the remix which was a big let down for me. You can grab these remixes on Beatport HERE.
