Progressive House | Little Daylight – Overdose (The Chainsmokers Remix)
Posted by Mel on March 13, 2013
Continuing their trend of remixing indie songs, quite possibly the greatest producing duo to ever exist besides Daft Punk and pretty much everyone else, The Chainsmokers have released another classic. For those who are unaware of who these two fine gentlemen are, i’ll briefly describe them. Have you ever thought about taking a bath and then realized what a ridiculous idea that is? Or how about when you’re home alone so you use the washroom with the door open but then your dog comes in and just stares at you. That’s what The Chainsmokers are. They’re the dog that watches you pee and the bath you don’t want to have. “Why is that?” you may ask. Well that’s because they think Leighton Meester is a 6.5 and Megan Fox is a 10.
But enough about their inaccurate scale of objectifying women, they just released a new song. They say it’s by far their favorite remix they’ve done and I can see why. I’m not sure if I like it better than their classic “Around Us” remix, but it’s definitely close. It’s in my top 200 for sure. The Chainsmokers have perfected the formula that they’ve used for their previous remixes. As well as having mastered such a rare thing these days, an intro that I actually enjoy listening to, they have a knack for injecting the energy of house music into songs while keeping much of the feel of the original intact. Sit back, click play, and ponder this wonderful piece of advice I was given by the guys themselves “if you’re anything as witty as you are online, you will likely get laid before you die… 😉

Guest Post from Evora:
Sometimes you just have those bad days and there’s really no way to escape it. It’s easy to turn to the dark side and dwell on whatever that overtaking you. However, I always taught that you are your worst enemy and I’ve always used music as my outlet to relax. If it’s a bad midterm, a stressful group project, or a fight with a girl I’ve always resorted to music to calm me down. I know this is the case for many of you so I created a playlist this week to motivate, invigorate, and revive those good feelings that have been locked away. One of my favorites in this playlist, Firefly by White Panda, helps feel a sense of relief, happiness and return to normalcy. I hope you can use this playlist as an outlet if you are having a stressful day, energize yourself and conquer whatever obstacles might be thrown in your way.
Dubstep, Trap | Hopscotch – Emotion
Posted by Mach on March 12, 2013
“Emotion” is exactly what this new free single from Hopscotch is. It is a melodic blend of purple bass, Trap, and Dubstep, not the usuals we are use to hearing together. With production help from Releece, Hopscotch wrote beauty into this track. Besides how great her voice is, her verses fit perfectly into the “Emotion” that is this tracks instrumental. No date or name set yet, but Hopscotch has announced that she has an EP coming soon.

Progressive House | Michael Woods – Platinum Chains
Posted by Middy on March 11, 2013
Making his return to Calvin Harris led Fly Eye Records, Michael Woods presents his first single of the year “Platinum Chains”. Michael Woods starts with fluttering key play and crescendoes into a signature big room drop you have come to expect from him in the past few years, finding a way to make good use of stutters without overdoing it. The UK producer has quietly been making tracks that have been staples of top Dj sets from several years now and “Platinum Chains” could add to that growing list.
Drum & Bass, Dubstep, Electronic | Koven – More Than You EP
Posted by Sev on March 3, 2013
Koven, formerly known as Coven, have just released their newest EP, which consists of one of the greatest releases of the year by far. After my first listen to the release I knew that this EP needed to be more than just a post about the release. So with a little bit of help we were able to ask the duo some questions about music and how it all started, which you can find by reading on below. Besides the two originals on the EP from Koven are two remixes; one from DC Breaks and the other from Roughmath, which are both amazing in their own manner. The title track, More Than You, is the perfect blend of emotion and heaviness into one power packed song. It isn’t an easy task to create such an emotional piece by an artist and also be able to incorporate their flavor of grime as well, but this duo showed us exactly how it needs to be done. Their second track No Blocks seems to be more along the lines of the neuro/glitchy style of dubstep that artist such as Koan Sound, or Reso create so often. Either way this EP contains some great tracks from all sides of the spectrum and is a must have. Don’t forget to click ‘Read On’ to check out our interview with Koven, and also a big thank you to Viper Recordings for helping make that happen.

Progressive House | Jakob Liedholm – Ocean, Eli, Beautiful (Remix)
Posted by Mel on February 21, 2013
Jakob Liedholm, one of our artists to watch in 2013, recently hit 10000 likes on Facebook and as way of saying thanks, he has given away three of his tracks for free. Keeping consistent with his signature style, all three of these tracks are the type of cheerful, uplifting tunes that you would come to expect from him. Ranging from the unique use of guitar throughout “Eli”, to the high energy build in his and Tim Norell’s remix of Parker Ighile’s “So Beautiful”, to the amazing, bigroom drop in “Ocean”, these are all must listens. If you enjoyed any of these tracks be sure to give him a like on Facebook if you haven’t already.

Hip-Hop | OCD: Moosh & Twist – All Alright
Posted by LoffyG on February 19, 2013
Moosh & Twist just let this new track loose off their upcoming mixtape, “Back To The Basement”, which is set to hit your speakers on March 12th. Sampling “All Alright” by FUN., the guys come with a sound that’s much different than their previous releases. They even use a bit of auto-tune by the sounds of it, but not in a way that is over-the-top. I’m looking forward to hearing the entire project, as well as catching them on the Up To No Good Tour that cracks off this Thurday with Huey Mack! Grab tickets using the link below!
