Progressive House | Tritonal & Paris Blohm ft. Sterling Fox – Colors
Posted by Middy on January 13, 2014
Protocol Recordings is generally known for a much more aggressive, uptempo sound in the spirit of its founder, Nicky Romero, but that does mean it can’t adjust its original mold to accommodate pure quality. Fellow American producers, Paris Blohm and Tritonal have a short, but strong relationship brewing, after Paris Blohm released an original and a remix on Enhanced Recordings, Tritonal’s parent label and one they are strongly tied to. “Colors” brings them away from their label, continuing along their trend of more melodic progressive house tunes that has angered old school fans, but brought has appealed to a whole new fanbase. The tune starts with tranced out, piano driven builds underneath Sterling Fox’s soaring vocals and crescendoes into an infectious synth-laden drop.
Electro-House | Tritonal ft. Phoebe Ryan – Now Or Never (Pierce Fulton Remix)
Posted by Middy on November 20, 2013
Tritonal have called upon fellow red white and blue banner man, Pierce Fulton to remix their recent track “Now Or Never”. The American producer keeps the simplistic beauty of the original, highlighting the vocals from Phoebe Ryan, but balances that with his own gritty, yet funky electro. Pierce has his remix for “Hey Now” coming on Monday for the Dance (Red) compilation, so be sure to grab that then. Don’t sleep on the Tritonal Club Mix, the other part of the package, which is wild.

Preview, Progressive House | Sebjak & Marcus Schossow – Liceu (Preview)
Posted by Middy on April 12, 2013
First premiered by Thomas Gold on his Fanfare radio show, the widely anticipated 102nd Size Records release “Liceu” is officially previewed, as the label continues its 1 to 100 celebration. Marcus Schossow has caught the eye of 2 members of the Swedish House Mafia, having inked a deal with Axwell’s Axtone label, with a release forthcoming, and also through this collaboration with fellow Swede, Sebjak. which received the approval of Steve Angello, and earned them a release on Size Records. Sebjak has also been putting his name out there with a string of high profile remixes for the likes of CLMD and Tritonal. With prominent booming horns and a bouncy drum line, the track is a unique breath of fresh air in a climate where many minimal festival cuts seem to be relying on the same formula. “Liceu” has already been making its way into many DJs sets, and with its release fast approaching on April 29th, you can only expect the number to grow.
DJ-Set, Trance | Tritonal – Metamorphic I EP
Posted by Middy on March 28, 2013
American trance duo, Chad Cisneros and Dave Reed who call Austin, Texas home follow up their UMF ASOT 600 performance with the release of their new 3 track “Metamorphic I” EP. The duo have just relaunched their radio show in a new platform “Tritonia” as a tribute to the fans who make it all happen, kickstarting a new beginning in 2013. They have developed much of the same complex we have seen with other trance producers like Ferry Corsten, who produce more traditional, albeit genre pushing trance, however their sets and radio shows encompass everything from big room, to electro, to the more traditional uplifters, like the tracks they produce.
The EP shows the many directions the duo can go with their sound, from a more ambient to trance to some more festival ready, hard hitting electro trance. The EP starts with the single “Bullet That Saved Me” featuring vocals from Underdown. The track starts with a smooth, calming build, featuring the male vocals from Underdown and then vaults you into a pitched lead and a minimal, percussive drop that works outstandingly for Tritonal in the live arena. The next track is a total 180 degree switch in energy — the soothing “Bring Me Down” featuring the angelic vocals from Meredith Call brings together a beautiful instrumental of orchestral strings, subtle piano and atmospheric pads that create this very chilled, relaxing track, totally switching up the mood in the EP. The last track on the EP, “Deep Into Black” follows along a similar vein as “Bring Me Down” with a soothing piano melody and choral vocal bits that slowly develop over the space of the song, but never give you a “drop”, just one smooth ride from start to finish.
Metamorphic I” is the first of three, three track EPs to be released this year, so stay tuned to this space for more info on Tritonal. Check out the latest episode of Tritonia below to get a sample of what is to come, which just so happens to be their live set from Ultra.
