Progressive House, Trance | Introducing : Moiez

It is really rare that I get a submission that makes me sit back in my chair and say “wow” and 19 year old Vancouver native Moiez Babar or Moiez did just that. With a combination of uplfiting trance and moving progressive tracks, Moiez is an artist that will we will be keeping an eye on. Judging by the soundcloud plays, this is a true introduction to the world for Moiez and his deftly crafted productions, though he has had some exposure in Canada. The two originals really stood out to me with “Sparks” being more along the lines of progressive house track and “Kismet” being more of a progressive trance track. They were both submitted to Tristan Garner’s Xtra Life contest, so if you read this Mr. garner pick Moiez.
“Spark” provides thoughtful vocals with a smooth build that cascades into a break of thumping bass, vocals, and synth chords creating a hands in the air melody. “Kismet” is more trancey with a quicker trance oriented bass line, soft, thoughtful interludes, quick key play with long synth chords and a driving bass line in the drop. The remixes are not to overlooked as well. Though Axwell & Henrik B will always remain kings for their remode on “Teenage Crime”, Moiez delivers a solid take on it. “Flashback” keeps much of the original melody, though he distorts it some to create a more fluid synth melody, while utilizing those very recognizable vocals. “Till Tonight” may be the best one, though it takes a while to reach the break. Also included is a teaser of his “Let’s Go” remix, which is being featured in the Beatport contest. Bootleg, House | Best of 2011 Bootleg Packages

As is always the case with the end of the year, there are end of the year bootleg packages from various artists who have made this a tradition as they give out huge bootleg packages, because lets be honest if you are a good Dj, mashups and bootlegs are pretty easy, Chuckie calls them “Airplane Edits”. Laidback Luke, Ken Loi and Denzal Park, who we featured here earlier this year for a bootleg package, have all given out some very good bootleg packages, with others to come in January from Fareoh and Tristan Garner, who does a Winter and a Summer Bootleg package. I picked out a few of the ones I thought were the highlights from each of the packages and put them up for you guys to preview and download and then put up the whole package. Ken Loi makes a fantastic bootleg package top to bottom with choice of songs and mixing and Laidback Luke you know kills it with this package and even gives out a few remixes he did. Denzal Park delivers quality bootlegs and tracklist is after the jump.

Trance | Tiesto – Traffic (Tristan Garner Remix), Tiesto ft. BT – Love Comes Again (Hardwell 2011 Rework)

Here are two of the recent remixes of Tiesto masterpieces that were done by Tristan Garner and Hardwell. Tristan Garner took on the near impossible task of remixing probably one of the most known trance tracks ever “Traffic” and did it quite well. He kept those ever recognizable chords and added his own twist to it.

Hardwell provides a slight refresher for the Tiesto and BT classic “Love Comes Again”. The recognizable vocals remain the same, while the drop that this song is known for gets a rework from Hardwell that makes it refreshing to listen to. These remixes do not change too much, but just slightly change these Tiesto classics enough to make you want to listen to them again. Get both remixes on Beatport HERE.

Here is the preview of the Tristan Garner’s remix of Tiesto’s “Traffic”, one of the best trance songs ever. He gives it a little bit more of a progressive feel, while not changing that much from this trance classic. Here is a new Tiesto song he released on the new Google/Android music market. Tiesto has been dropping songs out of the sky recently and though this one may not be as good as his “Fire In The House” remix or “Maximal Crazy”, it definitely deserves a listen. I have a treat for all of you house fans and DJs compliments of Tristan Garner. He rerecorded his set from Queen Paris and released it on soundcloud. It is chock full of unreleased songs and incredible bootlegs that he put together.
