First premiered by Axwell at Tomorrowland, Deniz Koyu makes his long overdo debut on Axtone Records with “Ruby”. The tune gives you the vintage Koyu sound, with added piano and synth layers that take it from a good track to a great song. Deniz Koyu makes bombs, just look at his track record with tunes like “Bong”, “Tung” and “Hertz”. Axtone shows once again why it is one of the best labels around with this release.

I know I may be way late to the party with this one and some of ya’ll might already be acquainted with Seatltle MC Raz Simone, but for those who aren’t, get familiar, because he’s about to be the next big thing in music and hip-hop. He just signed a deal with 300, Lyor Cohen’s record label, and dropped a 5 track EP Solomon Samuel Simone last March, with my favorite track being “Sometimes I Don’t” featuring Sam Lachow which you can stream below. Wish I could find the words to describe his sound, this is real music. I’ve had the record below on repeat, and you should too. This is a must listen and a must download!

Chill, Trap | Little Dragon – Fortune (SYZ Remix)

Today we have another great release from the Cream Collective! Brighton based producer SYZ (pronounced size) created a cool trap remix of “Fortune” by Little Dragon. I have to say, this track is mesmerizing. You can expect to hear trapped out beats, eerie vocals, a beautiful melody, and sound effects that tie the piece together. “Islvnd” from StéLouse (pronounced stay loose) and JB Flame is groovy, fresh, and definitely has an island vibe. It surprised me left and right. The contrast of the trap beats with the summery vibes is what makes this track so different. Scratches, glitches, and cymbals all decorate the airy vocals and beats with some serious funk. Slugabed, from London, released his unique tune “Waterfallssssss” today. Although I can’t explain this artwork, this trap track is really fun. The beats are hard hitting, and have a sort of tribal vibe going on. Vocal chops and samples during the drops add a more finished touch. My favorite drop is the last one at 3:05. Check it out!

Chill, Drum & Bass, Dubstep | Fractal – Spection EP

Fractal’s new two track EP called “Spection” is pretty impressive. He shows skill in two different genres, first drumstep in “Spection” and then chill/ambient in “Mountain Hunter”. Both tracks are excellent. “Spection” is fast, fun and full of growls. Definitely a head bobber. “Mountain Hunter” is mellow, eerie, and even though chill isn’t a genre that Fractal frequents, it was a pleasant surprise to see it done so well. This EP is worth checking out for sure.

As one of the keystone pioneers of a new realm of sound design, in addition to being a visionary of the future garage vibe, this Paris-based musician can not and will not stop throwing down quality track, after quality track. Check out his newest release, up for free download, a remix of producer Sango and vocalist SPZRKT’s chilled-out “Middle of Things.” If at any point you need a slightly funky, down-tempo track to spin on this fine, Friday night, you’ve found it.
