Normally drumstep, or drum n bass, aren’t really my cup of tea, besides a few guys like Sub Focus and Kove, but Rootkit has captured my ears and my heart with this latest tune. Anna Yvette, who has mastered working with promising up and coming dance acts, adds an emotive top line to the tune as calm builds lead into frenetic drops. Not your typical drum n bass tune, the track focuses more on the melody and uses the bass line to help guide the track to its early conclusion. Grab the track at your favorite portal below.

Few artists can pull off a quality mashup nowadays. It seems as though those times are over or, at the very least, numbered. Most of the glorious mashup DJ’s from the turn of the decade recognize this and are attempting to transition into original pieces. Sadly, few make it. However, Jack Eye Jones, a master of the original track trade, comes from the other side of the spectrum. Perhaps that’s why he can craft songs like “Latch For Life” and get away with it. The guy has a knack for these mashups so lend this track an ear. And for the snobby folks who refuse to consume inbred works, tune into my favorite Latch remix by Teemid.

NGHTMRE, who you know is trill as f because he dropped the “i” and “a” in nightmare, has taken on Charlie Darker’s recent single “Guns For Hire”. NGHTMRE keeps the joyful lead from the original and plays with the drop elements, switching up the tempo and adding his own trapped out twist. All you have to do to grab the track is head to his Facebook page and follow him on Instagram which is probably filled with trill stuff like guns, gold chains, pics of him ghost riding whips and all sorts of other stuff.

Nipping on the heels of their free, official remix for Magic Man’s “Out Of Mind”, Live City waste no time in releasing another freemix (free remix). Now they add their cheery, progressive take on Crystal Fighters tune “Love Alright”, who are reeling from the tragic passing of their much loved drummer Andrea Marongiu. RIP. Live City went the unconventional route with this remix and actually reached out to the band to remix the song, who had heard of Live City and gave them the go ahead to remix the tune. Alesso’s “Tear The Roof Up” was one of the most hotly anticipated tunes this summer after being his opening track on and off for close to two years. Now Moiez, who is only picking up steam with his recent releases, goes electro on this one, building his own track around the vocal bit. He keeps some of the original melody, but creates a whole new atmosphere with his own powerful saws that don’t overwhelm with the help of carefully crafted synths.
