Progressive House | Dimitri Vangelis & Wyman X Steve Angello – Payback
Posted by Middy on April 22, 2014
Its here. The early contender for track of the year has finally arrived and we could not be happier. This is an example of a track that was not made to fit the trends of the moment, but rather to last for the next ten or twenty years. Originally played at last year’s WMC, “Payback” sounds like it was made today or even 5 years from now. It is proof of what timeless dance music can be. This deserves to top all of the charts, so grab it at your preferred outlet below.
FYI, Videos | Jimmy Fallon’s Ragtime Version of “Ignition (Remix)”
Posted by yabishcic on February 19, 2014
Normally, someone wouldn’t just go and try to remix R. Kelly’s “Ignition (Remix)” because it’s simply a classic as it is. But in the second installment of The Tonight Show, Jimmy Fallon and his team of ragtime singers got a standing ovation with their rendition of the timeless song. All fun and laughs, but actually pretty impressive :p Jimmy never fails us.

iTunes: Tanya Morgan ft Spec Boogie & 6th Sense – The Vehicle
Tanya Morgan is a hip-hop group from Brooklyn and Cincinnati consisting of Donwill, Ilyas Nashid and Von Pea. My boy Vic shared their new track “The Vehicle” on my wall the other day, and I’m glad he did. This is some chill, smart timeless hip-hop with quality production. These guys deserve more views and recognition. FNT welcome Tanya Morgan, take the time to check out their music video, like them on Facebook and follow them on Twitter. They also have an album out called “Rubber Souls” that I’m about to discover. This is a must listen!
Chill, RnB | Blood Orange – Time Will Tell

iTunes: Blood Orange – Time Will Tell
Dev Hynes aka Blood Orange released visuals for his latest release “Time Will Tell” off his album Cupid Deluxe and it’s nothing short of amazing. According to the artist, he recorded this all in one take in about 15 minutes, then worked from there. Ironic, how it took such little time to make a timeless record, but I’m not mad at him. If you like Michael Jackson’s uplifting, inspiring music from back in the days, you’re going to like this one. This is a must listen!
Progressive House | Morten – Look Closer
Posted by Middy on August 21, 2013
Morten called this one a “timeless piece” to us and we will let you decide on your own what you think, but after several delays, Morten’s debut on Ash Pournouri’s PRMD label with “Look Closer” is here. A melodic track that is built for the summer, it does not try and overwhelm you with loudness and obnoxious bass, but rather leads you along with a subtly complex melody and a vocal top line that complements perfectly.
Albums, Videos | The Making Of Pretty Lights Color Map Of The Sun
Posted by Middy on June 19, 2013
Thump followed around Pretty Lights over the past 2 years during the process in which he has been crafted and developed his upcoming artist album “Color Map Of The Sun”. It goes through his progression of working in two studios in Brooklyn and New Orleans, working with countless musicians and singers trying to capture the most organic, raw, soulful sound he could for his album. This time he did not want to go out and sample records, but rather he wanted to create the samples himself and it took over a year to do so, working with all analog machinery to distort and cut, giving it that sound of a past generation. As I finish this video, I have not been this excited for an album since RAM, and though that was only a month ago, this has the possibility to to inspire dance music in a similar way, going back to the roots of blues, hip hop, folk and rock, imbuing them with an electronic sound. Just take it from the man himself as he talked about his own album,
“I think something beautiful and timeless was created”
Does it seem like he is either always high, or just goofy like that? Those dance moves are a bit much at times, but you can see his passion. Also that kitty may just be cutest DJ cat around, sorry Mr Meowingtons and Mittens Francis.
Albums, Electro | Andrew Bayer – If It Were You, We’d Never Leave (Album Review)
Posted by Middy on April 24, 2013
The world needs this album right now. Sometimes in this fast paced mile-a-minute world you just need to sit back, close your eyes and relax, and this is the album for that. The 25 year old American producer has developed a reputation for composing genre defying music that spans many styles and sounds. His 2011 album, “It’s Artificial” propelled his solo career forward with its wide variety of styles, from glitch-hop to silky smooth techno to eclectic electronica and progressive, creating a very cerebral experience.
Fast forward to 2013, Andrew Bayer has become a well established member of the Anjunabeats, producing with Above & Beyond on their album “Group Therapy”, being a part of Group Therapy stages everywhere from Tomorrowland to EDC Las Vegas and Electric Zoo, and joining Above & Beyond on tour all over the world. He has established himself with a growing single discography that includes the recently released “England” on Anjunabeats. “If It Were You, We’d Never Leave” is the progression of Andrew Bayer as an artist from his more days with the Signalrunners, making traditional trance music, to a now more ambient, orchestral, album oriented sound that has a timeless quality seen in very few full length electronic pieces today.
