Electro, House | Party Fuel

Posted by on September 29, 2010

Ladies and gentlemen, it’s officially pledging season. You know what that means? It’s time to bust out some new party fuel that provokes everyone to go buck-wild and thus create the largest messes in frats nationwide.

If you take one part “old” frat banger (Show Me Love) and add that to one part “new” frat banger (SHM – One) you end up with one absolutely filthy track. Honestly, a part of me feared this bootleg might not work too well, however, Trifo prepared this beat almost perfectly.
Swedish House Mafia & Mobin Master – Show Me One Love (Trifo 2010 Bootleg)[BIGLIFE EDIT]

Interestingly enough, you can definitely hear elements from both the tracks used above, in this AfroJack remix. The signature “clap” sound from One seems to be catching on and for good reason – it’s a great tool to accentuate drops.

It’s a BIGLIFE EDIT….
Phonic Funk – Save This City ft. The Bleachworks (Club MIx)[BIGLIFE EDIT]

Fonzerelli maintains a perfect balance of sounds with his remixes; there’s a noticeable theme, yet they’re not redundant and monotonous. A number of DJs suffer from a lack of ingenuity; rather than exploring new boundaries, they confine themselves to a common theme. I guess the idea that success breeds failure rings true for some, but Fonzerelli continuously debunks this adage.

This might be slightly overdone, but I’ll leave that conclusion up to you. Lend the preview an ear if you’re a fan of the original.
Flo Rida feat David Guetta – Club Can’t Handle Me (Adi Perez 10′ Remix)
— (3.5)

Here’s a basement thumper with some authentic instrument sounds thrown in the mix.

As a bonus, I added an up and coming artist that hails from Loyola University. This Virginia native goes by Trey Palms and he’s making moves quickly.

After my latest episode on set of the Still I Rise video, I’m thinking this “Better When I’m Drunk” track is my new summer theme song. Shouts to DJ Dorino for the La Roux track aka Indie Girl Fire (rumor has it Sam Adams might jump on that one).

Download: The White Tie Affair – Better When I’m Drunk (Strobonic Electro Mix) (4.5 stars)
Download: Imogen Heap – Hide And Seek (Tiesto’s In Search Of Sunrise Remix) (4 stars)

Considering it’s the theme song to the HBO series How To Make It In America, many of you may recognize THC’s previously posted hit titled “I Need A Dollar (Remix)”. The catchy hook backed by a consistent bass-line compliments THC’s flow quite well, something which seems to be a recurrent theme in his music. Both of the tracks below, which incidentally are off of the free mixtape, bring a similar vibe to your speakers. I’m loving “Rise and Fall”; it sounds like a Red Hot Chili Pepper jam with a few rap verses thrown in the mix.
