Progressive House | Imagine Dragons – Demons (Dzeko & Torres ‘Sunset’ Remix)
Posted by Mel on November 29, 2013
Dzeko and Torres said two days ago on Facebook that if their status got 2000 likes, then they will release a new remix today. That status did not get 2000 likes but here we are, with a new remix. We can ignore the fact that they may or may not be massive liars because they consistently put out quality tracks, usually with an occasional free download every once in a while. Their latest is a remix of Imagine Dragons’ “Demon” and it has that upbeat sound with a catchy melody that is synonymous with all of their productions.

Progressive House | Arias – Viirgo

Happy Thanksgiving to you all. May your hangover quickly subside and you be ready for some football and the best meal of the year. One of my favorites putting out tracks in 2013, Frenchman Arias is back with another great celestial themed original “Viirgo”. Arias builds on the sound he has crafted in 2013 that is uniquely his own, while still evolving in the framework of driving, progressive melodies that make his tracks so special. The preview is only a minute long, but the picture is very clear on the quality of the track in that minute.

iTunes: Max Elto – Backyard Animals
Saw this video on Facebook, and I’m liking the song a lot. The track is called “Backyard Animals” by Swedish duo Max Elto. The best way to describe their sound is indie-electro, a perfect blend of indie rock and electro. The duo just signed to Big Beat at Atlantic Records, and at the sound of things I’m expecting a bright future for these two! This is a must listen and a must watch!
Progressive House | Arty – Flashback

It can be very frustrating to wait for Arty releases, we know all to well, but when they come, it is so sweet. This track he has hailed as his most professional and the one he is most proud of to date (discounting “Kate”). “Flashback” somehow finds a middle ground between on the soothing Arty sound we have come to know, the booming stadium sized melodies he crafts and a darker, more brooding sound that is not heard in many recent Arty productions.

Electro-House | DubVision – Rifler

It is always a great day when we have a release from DubVision. They are more known for their more melodic tracks like “Redux” and their remix of “Committed To Sparkle Motion”, but here they show, you shouldn’t pigeonhole them into one sound. The track maintains the same melodic stamina that we have seen in the past from the Dutch duo, noticeably seen in the break, however they add an edginess to it with the growling synths that set this apart from other DubVision tracks.
It is great to see these two evolve their sound and branch out from their melodic style that they had become so adept at, but some aspects were growing a little repetitive.

Electro-House | EDX & Leventina – The Tempest

Two of Switzerland’s finest house exports (well Andrea from Leventina is Italian, but its ok) EDX & Leventina have come together again for an original, aptly titled “The Tempest”. The man behind most of Swiss dance music, either on the label side or actually writing it (see credits for EDX, Dinka, Helvetic Nerds, and his aliases), Chris Reece strikes again with this Leventina collab. With a sound familiar to their heavily supported “Blood Pressure” remix, the three of these Swiss DJs deliver on a track that does not fall into the trap of copying W&W or using a washed out hardstyle kick, but remains potent and relevant in the 2013 festival sound. The vocal samples only add to the frenzied pace of the track.
