Indie, Progressive House | Strange Talk – Young Hearts (The Chainsmokers Remix)
Posted by Mel on February 26, 2014
The guys behind such wisdom as “If she is good on top, don’t ever take that for granted…” and “you should seriously consider creating some alias, maybe like mr jerkalot or something” (they said that to me in an email like 3 months ago don’t worry about it) have released yet another song, this time a remix to Strange Talk’s “Young Hearts”. You have undoubtedly heard at least some of their stuff before so I’m not going to explain their style again because I have been doing it every couple of weeks for months now. This has their classic sound and is once again a great remix. Also, they have broken their string of official tracks and released this one for free.

Electronic | Sir Sly – Gold (Phazz Remix)
Posted by BP on February 26, 2014
This song was incredibly difficult to categorize, and that is exactly what makes it so cool. Phazz’s remix of “Gold” by Sir Sly is simply some bass filled bouncy bliss. The variety of sounds in this track made it interesting all the way through. The drum work in this track is on point, as well as the groovy bass-line. The guitar made me think of warmer, summery times. Grab this unique track for free!

Electronic | Madeon – Cut The Kid

Everybody is aware of Madeon and his wonderful abilities as a producer. He doesn’t release tracks often but when he does they are always outstanding. In an effort to tide his fans over, he is releasing a song he made a few years ago for free. “Cut The Kid” upholds the high quality that we are use to seeing from the young Frenchman and has the same unique sound his productions always do.

Hip-Hop, Rap | YoAstrum – Heav3n
Posted by admin on February 25, 2014
As the line between house music and hip-hop grows ever-closer, YoAstrum once again finds himself nicely situated between both worlds. His latest song, “Heav3n”, is a mere two-minutes long and features an instrumental canvas laid out by Mr. Carmack, and Tk Kayembe. The song is both catchy and unique, a perfect combination for your Tuesday night.
We’ve seen two stellar singles from YoAstrum these past few weeks, so hopefully a full length project is imminent. Stay up.
Progressive House | Marcus Schossow – Kings Of Summer Nights

First things first, look at the top left corner of the picture for some hot stuff. Do I ever wish I could have been that couch for the night haha.. As a thank you for 150k likes on Facebook, Marcus Schossow has given away a new track titled “Kings Of Summer Nights”. As alluded to by the title, this song is a dedication to the late nights he spent as a teenager growing up in Sweden. The song is quite different from his current stuff and is instead a light progressive tune that is almost trance like at times. This isn’t the type of track you would expect from him but it’s great and we can only hope he makes more like it in the future.

FYI | Wildstylez Rips Off Deadmau5 “Some Chords”
Posted by Middy on February 21, 2014
Dutch hardstyle producer Wildstylez (why does every hardstyle producer replace s with z in their name) recently released his tune “Straightfoward”, fitting in its own right, that just takes the chords from Deadmau5’s “Some Chords” and drags and drops them into his own tune. To quote deadmau5, wildstylz did not just take “some chords”, but all of them, in the same order, which makes this as bad as it could possibly be. I would not say this is on the level of will.i.steal, but it is pretty damn close damn close. Deadmau5 can be a prick sometimes, but he also isn’t afraid to speak his mind and going after someone who blatantly copied his song. I would say listen for yourself, but it is so obvious you will hear it the immediately.
Here is a solution. The damage has been done for both sides, bridges burned, images tarnished in the eyes of the other. However out of respect for deadmau5, because this would never go to trial, Wildstylez could pull the tune from iTunes, release it as a free download and credit deadmau5. The track is on his label so he doesn’t have too many hurdles to jump through. This will probably never happen, but I tried.
Some tweets:
if youre going to rip off "some chords" rip off SOME chords… not ALL OF THEM. IN THE SAME FUCKIN ORDER. lol

@wildstylez go fuck yourself. seriously. yes, i am, in fact, taking credit for the melody i wrote. Are you telling me its yours?

Progressive House | Timeflies – All The Way (Milkman Remix)
Posted by Mel on February 20, 2014
The original Timeflies track “All The Way” was posted here three times for some reason so I think it’s safe to assume that most of you are familiar with it. If you aren’t, take a quick read through either this, this, or this and acquaint yourself. The currently LA based Gregg Luskin, who produces under the name Milkman took to remixing it and added more of a progressive house feel to the pop song.
