“We wanted to step away from our usual disco sound and make a song for the clubs.I (Darren) spent alot of time in the clubbing-worldthis year and that has been a big inspiration for our sound to head off into that directionfor this release.Over the last few months, we’ve both listened to a lot of club-focused music from the likes of Fisher, Duke Dumont, Dom Dolla and Diplo. Lyrically it’s about surrounding yourself with people that match your energy because life is too short to let peoplewith bad vibes in–basically it’s a banger with a strong message of self-confidence and good vibes!” -Midnight Pool Party
Albums | 1tbsp Drops “2007”
Posted by VMan on November 8, 2022
1tbsp is an indie-house project from Australian artist Maxwell Byrne (aka Golden Vessel) which has a sound that can be likened to a mix between Fred Again, Mall Graband Four Tet. His new track “2007” is off of an upcoming project, due out next month. Listen to “2007” by 1tbsp above now and read a quote on the release after the jump!
“This idea started from a day of recording with David Versace (of First Beige), one of the first things he played was this synth line that I knew I wanted to try re-work it and speed up. After almost figuring the song out, George Nicholas (of Seekae) helped with the last few finishing touches. 2007 feelsreally influenced by a monthly club night I was throwing in Brisbane last year called “sumoclic nights” (which both David & I DJ’d). My dance music taste and love for DJing really grew and this track feels like it’s a result of that time.” –1tbsp
Albums | Ari Abdul Releases New EP ‘Fallen Angel’
Posted by VMan on October 27, 2022
20-year-old singer & songwriter Ari Abdul dropped her new EP ‘Fallen Angel’ via Slumbo Labs/RCA Records. Tune in to the deeply personal project after the jump and check out a quote from her on her debut project! Keep a tab on Ari Abdul, she’s quickly growing across the board.
“You have like these nice, lovely, innocent sounding songs. And by the end of the EP, the songs get really distorted and heavier, and the lyrics get darker. Maybe there’ll be an emotion or a little something that happens in my life in a song, but the EP is completely storytelling. We keep pretty melodies, but still have production and lyrics that completely contradict those pretty melodies.”

cozy kev is a Chicago-based producer taking listeners on a celestial journey through sound by blending together elements of ethereal future bass, shadowy hip-hop beats, and raw electronic trap. His new track “HOLY RAIN” is a great introduction to his music if you have not yet heard it, so tune in to the song above now and read a quote from cozy kev on the release after the jump!
“The first drop was really intended to make you feel cool. I thought of riding through a city with the top down, just feeling myself haha. The second drop was made to intensify the emotion of the song and really just summarize the whole idea as a constant buildup into that second drop. It gets heavier as well, as I’m trying to show people that I’m gradually getting into a heavier style of music.” – cozy kev
Albums | Washington DC based artist Kris Kollins Releases “SIDE FX”
Posted by VMan on August 25, 2022
Washington DC has a low key music scene that isn’t as booming as LA or the NYC market but that doesn’t mean there is no good music coming out of their city. Kris Kollins is making some really cool music that deserves your attention, especially his latest drop “SIDE FX.” The recently released alt-pop single is a romantically charged song that is a great introduction to his music if you are not yet familar. Tune in above now and read a quote from him on the release after the jump!
“It’s the feeling of being so infatuated with someone it feels like an addiction. You’re not yourself, but you feel lifted. Love and infatuation is pretty much a drug trip, and this song is about that….it’s a feeling that scares me, but I desire.” – Kris Kollins
Albums | Collo and Dee Wolf Connect on “Burnt”
Posted by VMan on August 17, 2022
Melbourne, Australian based artist Collo’s latest offering “Burnt” is a hard hitting alt-rock single that features Italian vocalist Dee Wolf for a potent connection of sounds. Collo’s musical journey started early on when he was given an acoustic guitar as a Christmas present when he was only 8 years old, and it’s all history from there on out. Influenced by rock icons like AC/DC, Led Zeppelin, Pink Floyd and David Bowie, he has big shoes to fill but the grittiness of “Burnt” is a step in the right direction. This is the first piece of music I’ve heard by the Aussie talent but I left wanting more and plan to tune in to more of his music moving forward. Listen to their single above now and read a quote from Collo on the track below now!
“This is a song about a girl who has got into a relationship with a guy who she already had a failed relationship with previously. Unfortunately this time around it also turned out badly for her. She was “Burnt” by this guy a second time – but she is determined to fight back and move forward from this difficult experience.” – Collo
Albums | Long Term Parking Release Video for “King E”

Long Term Parking is an expansive musical project by three veteran musicians looking to broaden their horizons. The bands fluid style combines elements of hip hop, rock and alt-pop into a unique sound that also draws influences from classical and folk music. Check out the music video for “King E” by Long Term Parking above now and below this article check out a quote from the band on their new release!
“King E.’ is the oldest song on the record, but ironically ended up being the closer. It took a lot of work to make everything sound casual. The song has a very specific structure that is remotely inspired by a baroque rondo. ‘King E’. is an example of what we’re trying to do, namely look for bridges and create collages. We try to connect things that are seemingly unrelated in the most natural way. The lyrics of the song describe the way your inner world expands into your real life.”
