Dubstep | Au5 – Crystal Mathematics / The Reason II
Posted by Sev on March 24, 2013
You can always count on Viper Recordings to come through with a massive release. After just releasing Koven’s outstanding EP they come through with yet another fresh signing and EP from Au5. Au5 was the winner of the Seven Lion’s remix competition so you know he has some talent in the the trancy/dubstep department, if Seven Lion’s thought so. His title track that was featured on UKF’s channel is next level on the trance-dubstep fusion and of course the amazing Shaz Sparks is providing the vocals. The drop on this track has some craziness going on compared to what we normally hear on this style of track, which helps it stand out compared to the others. His next track The Reason II is along the same lines as far as style, but with a little heavier added touch to it. This is a stellar release overall, and also a great way to kick off the week.

Dubstep, Trance | Seven Lions EP Teaser (Release on 10/16)
Posted by Sev on October 6, 2012
After having two monster remixes released in the past two weeks, Seven Lion’s is back again with a big announcement. The Seven Lions EP has been signed by one of the biggest EDM labels around currently, OWSLA, and set to be released on 10/16. I definitely didn’t see this coming, but I am ecstatic for him. Showing us that no matter what label wants to release his music, he stays true to his style and what he does best, which we see a showcase of in this teaser video. The Trance infused dubstep style seems to have appealed to Skrillex enough for him to sign this magnificent artist’s EP in what is going to be one of the top releases on the label in the past few months. There isn’t much else to say that we already haven’t about Seven Lions, but the wait for the next 10 days is going to a long and eager one. With that said, we also got a sneak peak at one of the tracks from the EP courtesy of Spin Magazine and it is surely a promising one.
Dubstep | Velvetine – The Great Divide (Seven Lions Remix)

Featured last week in our Seven Lion’s preview post, and needing no introduction; Seven Lions remix to the The Great Divide is finally available to buy. The outstanding progressive/transe/dubstep influenced track has been on my youtube repeat list for the past two weeks already. Seems as though the more elegant style of dubstep is starting win me over compared to the filthy bangers I tend to post. This emotional, feeling filled style will never bore me and I eagerly await to see more artist take their stab at this gracious process of creating music. Buy this track off of Beatport HERE.
Dubstep | R Rated #31

If you don’t know the name Seven Lion’s by now, you must be living under a rock. Having once won a remix competition for Above Beyond; now is being asked for remixes by them. Known for some destructive, melodic dubstep drops, he has climbed his way to the top with some of the hottest tracks in EDM. Look for this release on June 25th. It took me a while to find some tracks for R this week. Seems as though the amont of quality tracks given away has cut down lately. No worries, hopefully summer will bring out the best in all these artist. Barron has been featured many times on R Rated, because we just can’t get enough of his ruff and grimey synth sounds. Bringing that style to most of his originals and remixes; he decided to take this minimal/techno sounding original by BT and crank it up about a 100 notches.
Another artist who has slowly made a name for himself, having big names such as Rusko, Flux Pavilion and many more dropping his tracks. Tim Ismag, gave away this nice little edit he made. Nothing to heavy to smash you ears, but good enough to sit down and enjoy.
I have to say, I was a big fan of the original of this track by Bong. With the remix compeition for this track, their has been a flood of remixes and this is by far one of my favorites that has been given away for free. Mantis has one of the best as well, but his is locked in for the compeition. Nevertheless RealTalk provides us with this nice, gruesome remix to fill that gap. Taking the track and adding his own spin to it; he also decides to make it into a drumstep style track halfway through which I thought made it 10 times better.
