House, Mashups | DJ Trademark – Electro Season (EP)
Posted by Juicebox on July 30, 2012
The question has been lingering around the blogsphere for the last few months now…who will be next to capitalize on the mashup market and achieve the quick rise to fame that Kap Slap & 3LAU have? With the release of his latest EP, “Electro Season,” I think DJ Trademark just answered that question for us. Compared to previous releases, this entire EP is on a different level. Everything from the overall creativity to the technicality of each track; you can tell how much DJ Trademark has improved and really perfected the art. The EP features a wide variety of different electronic tracks perfectly blended with everyone’s favorite top 40 vocals. Hands will be in the air, dance floors will be filled, and the season will be electro (as long as DJ Trademark has anything to do with it).
House | James Egbert – Back To New (3LAU REMIX)
Posted by Juicebox on March 5, 2012
As you guys know, we’ve been backing this kid since Kap Slap first introduced us to him. 3LAU has had a ridiculous rise to fame in the past couple of months and is absolutely killing it in the college/edm scene. With his ever Beatport release coming out mid April (a remix of James Egbert’s “Back To New”) we only felt it appropriate to post the preview. There’s no doubt about it…3LAU is on his way. Also, make sure you take a second to check out his live set at Congress Theater here, trust us. What do you guys think…is 3LAU the next big thing?
Hip-Hop | J Cole ft Trey Songz – Can’t Get Enough

J. Cole officialy just leaked this track off “Cole World: The Sideline Story.” Keep your eyes out for the mastered version off the album dropping on September 27th. With Cole’s sudden rise to fame and immense following, album sales for this one should be very interesting.

Videos | Mac Miller – Best Day Ever [OFFICIAL VIDEO]
Posted by BIGLIFE on July 22, 2011
This is my favorite Mac Miller video yet and considering his series of Rex Arrow films in part fueled his rise to fame, that’s saying a lot. In true Mac Miller fashion, this laid back tune get the unique film concept treatment that his visuals are notorious for. Here’s what Mac had to say about this drop “Enjoy… thank you for all the support in the preparation and dropping of Best Day Ever. Yall are the shit and have made this last year of my life incredible. hope u enjoy. thumbs up.” Man this kid does it right – he’s putting his competitors to shame…
Electro, House | Lazy Rich, Paul Van Dyk, & Matt Zo Remixes
Posted by Juicebox on July 19, 2011
Lazy Rich has been absolutely killing it this year putting out some of the filthiest electro remixes I’ve probably ever heard. Make sure you check out his latest one below as well as the one we’ve posted earlier a few months back, it’s a must download. Glad to see Paul Van Dyk putting out a remix; a few of the classics who put edm on the map have been in the shadow of all these young guns and their fast rise to fame. Lastly, Matt Zo is a British (sigh) progressive dance producer who I had never heard of until I came across this remix…no homo, but it’s one of those songs that you just get lost in, turn it up and let it go.

Snoop dog’s resurgence in the game seems to be directly correlated to Wiz Khalifa’s rise to fame. In fact many people call Khalifa the 80’s babies answer to Snoop, which I completely agree with. They’re bringing back the smokers music, lets just hope Atlantic doesn’t hault the progress…

Matty Trump kills every one of Sams beats (wait till you hear their collabo on I Need A Dollar) so it didn’t surprise me that his rendition of Alejandro turned out to be an absolute banger. Rumor has it Matty’s going to be working on releasing at least one techno remix a month.

Unfortunately Jay-Z refuses to let his prodigy J. Cole perform for anything under $12.5k which, for an up and coming artist, is a bit pricey. This probably explains why no one books him and why he hasn’t emerged as a powerhouse. Our affiliated artists placed a nice spin on this dope cole song, check it out.

Dj Dorino tipped me off to this Evil Woman remix on our flight to Cancun last year and I immediately fell in love with it. Little did I know, Posner would rise to fame in the coming months. Interestingly enough, DJ Dorino also gave Sam Adams the idea to remix broken glass around that same time, I really hope he hasn’t lost his special touch. Be on the lookout for Dj Dorino playlist in the near future.
