Dubstep | R Rated #26

As you can see we are numbering the R Rated posts now, logistics BS, don’t worry about it. Kicking off this weeks R Rated is a preview of KillaGraham’s unreleased filth banger, ‘Arise.’ The track has no official release date yet, but samples vocal clips from Drake. This track is beast.

The only purchase track you will find on R this week and it crushes. SPL & Babylon System’s track ‘Gangster’ released about a year ago. Since then there was a release of remixes, and now volume two of the remixes dropped today with this gem of a VIP from SPL. Although I wish he kept the strings that made the original, there is no doubt in Sev or my own mind that this should be in every filth lover’s library. Oh, and the cover art is badass.

Now what you all come to FNT for, free stuff. Sev hit me up with this just before I began R, and we agree that the originality of this track is outstanding. It has a funky feel to it on the down parts, but it works really well with the creative drop that just brings joy to your ears. Always awesome when artists create something that sounds like no other you have heard before.

Dubstep | Xilent Remixes

Posted by on April 17, 2012

Two new top notch remixes from Xilent, what could be better? At this point nothing really. I debating posting up the originals of these as well, but they just cannot compare to what Xilent prepared for us. This first remix sounds like something Gemini would spoil our ears with. The vocal editing is great, makes them match the crunchy melodic drop is the best of ways. For me the original was just too simple sounding, even for a house track. I really am enjoying the trend of dubstep artists remixing house tracks.

I absolutely love the vocals on this next remix. The original used them in an entirely different way that didn’t seem to compliment the track enough in my opinion. Xilent is dominating right now, releasing one amazing track after another. I use to be a hater, but with tracks like this how could I allow myself to be? Sadly this remix is only out in the UK…thank god for google.

Dubstep | Craig Armstrong – Escape (Mt Eden Remix 2012)

Posted by on April 13, 2012

Oh…my…god… Mt. Eden are Gods of Gods for this remix. It is a complete mind blow, I don’t even know what to do with myself right now and I should be resting up for an exam I have. Mt. Eden never seems to disappoint, this might be one of the greatest things you will listen to this weekend/month.

Drum & Bass | Mooqee & Pimpsoul – Feeling Good (Tantrum Desire Remix)

Posted by on April 11, 2012

Loving the sounds from Tantrum Desire on all of their latest releases so far. These guys are killing it in Dnb for me right now. Bringing in a new fresh style that is undeniably one of the best in the game. Not sure how the lyrics to this song aren’t a problem with Michael Buble, or taken straight from him, but whatever works, works. What appeals to me most is how Tantrume Desire dip into both drumstep and drum and bass in most of there songs. The combination of synths and leads in this track fuze together to create a Dnb masterpiece.

Hip-Hop | Macklemore – Victory Lap

Posted by on April 9, 2012

There’s nothing that brightens up my day more than new Macklemore. Ben Haggerty is here to stay, and so is Ryan Lewis. The man tells stories, his music is unlike anything else out right now, and that’s what makes him special. If anyone disagrees, feel free to sound off in the comments and let me know, because I’ll back Mackelmore up to death(flame war). Ryan Lewis, the other half of this faboulous duo, can do no wrong. Every beat he crafts allows Mack to easily paint vivid pictures in our minds. Victory Lap is Macklemore’s piece off of the “XXL Freshman List Mixtape,” and it outshines everything, in my opinion. Grab the whole thing here, and take a listen to Macklemore’s track below.

Food For Thought: Macklemore is the difference between RAP and HIP-HOP. He’s an artist, not a rapper.

Review | Maxim Bady On… Kanye West’s “Theraflu”

Posted by on April 6, 2012

“I like Peta. I like Kanye West. I like Kim Kardashian’s… a**. I like Youtube. I like Wiz Khalifa. Everything I like in the same song! Dis is my song!

This is what I’m talking about. Finally, somebody makes a review that accurately represents the way I feel about Kanye’s new music. He’s aiming for the head right now and not missing. Not even DJ Khaled, who does absolutely nothing but put his name on the song, could ruin “Theraflu” with his yelling. Kanye can’t be stopped right now. He’s easily the best hip-hop artist in the world. Who else would come out and admit they fell in love with Kim Kardashian? Who else could have Kris Humpries dropped from the team? Kanye West, that’s who. Maxim Bady loves this song in 10,000 different ways. Swag him out.

Hip-Hop | Kanye West ft. DJ Khaled & DJ Pharris – Theraflu

“The whole industry wanna f*ck yo ole chick. only n*cca i got respect for is wiiiiiiz. And I admit, I fell in love with Kiiiim bout the same time she fell in love with hiiii. Well thats cool, babygirl do ya thiiiiing. Lucky I ain’t have Jay drop him from the teeeam.”

When Kanye West fires shots the whole world listens, as evidenced by a seemingly random track just premiered by Funk Master Flex that touches on Kim Kardashian, Kris Humphries, Wiz Khalifa, and Amber Rose. Kanye is aiming for the head, and he’s not missing right now. G.O.O.D. Music’s forthcoming single, “Mercy” featuring 2-Chainz, Big Sean, and Pusha T is dropping on Friday.

Update: Track has been taken down across the board by UMG.
