Hip-Hop | OCD: Moosh & Twist | HIP-HOP

Posted by on January 30, 2011

It’s about time I feature these two teenage rappers from Philly on FNT. Every few days or so I find myself revisiting old videos and scouring Youtube for new material and yet, I’ve never given them a post. The beat and verses in the youtube video above are dope. Here’s the bio off their facebook page:

OCD is an up and coming rap duo straight out of Philadelphia, PA. Their unique progressive hip hop sound has been receiving plenty of attention recently on the East Coast. Still high school seniors, Moosh & Twist are two teens with dreams to change the game in a positive way. Two young men with the drive to make it. OCD for life.

And the hood rappers continue to explore electronic sounds… I’m loving it, this track will definitely hit radio waves in the distant future.

Hip-Hop, Mixtapes | HIP-HOP | Machine Gun Kelly – Lace Up

Posted by on December 11, 2010

I have been hesitant to post this but after I downloaded it a couple weeks ago I haven’t been able to take it off. For all you doubters of white rappers, this will impress. After I heard his first song, Chip Off The Block, I thought he was just a white kid who could flow hard but after a listen through this mixtape, he really shows his versatility and mainstream appeal. Check it out and let us know what you think about him. Shout out to all our Ohio fans!

Hip-Hop | Introducing… Carlos St. John

Posted by on November 8, 2010

Yes, Carlos St. John is his actual name. It’s not his stage name. Just like his name reflects who he is, so does his music. Don’t put him in a box. Not only is he a rapper, he’s also a songwriter, performer, and a product of Guyana. He’s from a mother who was a hustler and a father who always chased tail. Something tells me he’s a little bit of both. Simply put, Carlos wears many hats, and wears them well. He’s all the fun you think he’s having.

Looking at him you’d expect him to sing you some diddley about some girl he loves. Don’t count on it. Unlike most straight-teethed well-dressed rappers you’ve come to know, the wiles of women hold no sway, only the lure of success. Ambitious to say the least. Charming if you’ve ever spoken to him, composed if you’ve ever been around him.

Do yourself a favor, forget what you think you know about rappers, because even if you’ve read this script, you haven’t seen THIS movie. Check him out. You won’t be disappointed. Shout out to Andre!

Hip-Hop | Split Second – Blood Diamond

Posted by on October 8, 2010

Let me give you some background on this FNT premier. I decided to pay a visit to the stomping grounds of these up and coming college rappers last month largely due to the fact that the rough cut of this track immediately grabbed my attention. I needed to witness the talents in motion at their makeshift yet professional sounding studio. After clowning on one another for a short while these dudes laid down the following absolutely ill track. If you’ve been searching for something slightly different, yet still within range of your rap comfort zone give this track a shot.

Matthew Clarke, the winner of the Fresh New Track’s “Trillionaire” competition. Matthew sat down with us recently for a short interview about his life, rapping, and the struggles he’s had to overcome to get to where he is today. Although he’s a man of few words, his music speaks for itself. Below, is the track that won him the competition. Matt was kind enough to bless us with some completely new tracks as well. Be sure to hit the jump to catch the rest of the interview.
