It seems to me that as of late, the inflow of new rappers into the game has reached a breakneck speed. With this in mind, it is clear that it is becoming harder and harder for indivdual rappers to distinguish themselves from the mass. Well, at just fourteen years old, Big Red is definitely ahead of the curve. This promising young act has a mixtape “Make Room” due out this spring with a number of features such as Tayyib Ali. Apparently when Lil Wayne claimed he was going to take on this new rock/rap sub-genre because he already mastered his original style, he inspired a number of other rappers to follow in suit. I’m not too crazy about this style and hope the big dogs don’t continue to stray too far from their comfort zones. What do you all think are we digging this sound?

Although this isn’t as catch as Katy Perry and Snoop Dogg’s “California Gurl”, Kanye West does a venerable job of trying to live up to the previous hit by laying down some impressive bars. Hopefully Katy will continue to seek out big rappers to compliment her pop voice; its a great formula for success if you ask me.

This song is off Travis Barker’s up coming mixtape, Let the Drummer Get Wicked. The drums that Travis added really give this song the aggressive feel that just wasn’t there in the original version.
