House | Jessie J ft. 2-Chainz – Burning Up (Clinton Sparks Remix)

Posted by on December 1, 2014

Just when I thought Don Diablo’s “Burning Up” remix took the cake, Photo Finish / Republic’s Clinton Sparks drops his incredible ultra lounge remix that transforms this top 40 staple into to a nu-disco masterpiece. While Clinton usually opts for rolling snares and 808’s it’s good to see him step outside his comfort zone, proving his production abilities aren’t tethered to any specific genre. Clinton never fails to impress. His latest “ICONoclast” EP is available on iTunes now. Pick that up and get familiar.

Just when I thought Pep and Rash were all of out tricks, they go and release their remix to Goshen’s mega-smash “Klanga” with incredible results. Keeping the sexy vibe of the original mix intact is never an easy task. However, Pep & Rash managed to do just that, capturing the sax-heavy vibe with added production that gives “Klanga” new life. Pep and Rash’s “Klanga” remix is out on Beatport the 28th. God tier remix. Keep an eye on Pep & Rash. They’re a force to be reckoned with. Hit that sax!

Mix | Tchami – Diplo & Friends

I like Tchami. I think he’s a force to be reckoned with and a serious breathe of fresh air for the dance community. Many don’t know that’s been producing for a while, and has co-production credits (along with DJ Snake) on “Turn Down For What” and Lady Gaga’s “Do What You Want” record. That’s no joke kids. You don’t produce those records without serious connections and proven production prowess.

I pump Tchami’s tires to say this: I wasn’t a big fan of this mix. My expectations are so high for this guy that it just didn’t live up to what I expected given his previous mixes, which were all gold. His DAD mix? Gold. His Thump mix? 24 Karat. Social Club in Paris? Cash for Gold. It doesn’t matter what I think. I’ll let our readers decide. Did this mix do it for you?

Be sure to catch Tchami on his European tour fall run. Details here.

Electro-House | Charity Strike – Yankee

charity strike - yankee

When I first saw the name I thought it would be a tribute song to the man, the myth, the legend, Derek Jeter, but the LA based duo let me down on that point. They redeemed themselves with the actual content of the tune that brings together an interesting mix of blues and rock with gritty electro bursts. Stream the tune below and expect more from the Hardwell remix competition winners, turned official remixers and original production signees.

Deep House | Mary J Blige – Nobody But You

Posted by on October 2, 2014

I’ll be the first to admit, I wasn’t happy with the Disclosure collaboration Mary J Blige released, it was lacking in my ears, especially from a legend, and out of all of people from Disclosure, but this solo record though from MJB “Nobody But You” is a jam! Smooth and sexy, Mary poses her R&B roots over a nice and chill deep house production that is without a doubt doing it for me. Now I’m going to back to listening, and let you do the same! This is a must listen and a must download!

Building on the success that was “Here Tonight” with Dash Berlin and Jay Cosmic, the dynamic production duo enlists Collin McLoughlin to put his magical acoustic touch on what many have argued was a summer anthem. Re-produced entirely by Collin, this acoustic offering is said to have a video following soon. I can’t wait to see what they come up with next. Support “We Are, Pt. 1” on iTunes now.
