Our friends over at Monstercat hit me with a track by UK duo Lets Be Friends “FTW” that is leaving me completely stumped and inspired! Rarely does my jaw drop, and lead me to ask “what the fuck is this?” in the most positive way possible. Lets Be Friends went hard with this production, and as the title states, they went straight for the win! If you happen to add this to your playlist for the car, make sure you check your sped-o-meter, you might catch yourself doing over 100mph and not realize it, that’s how hard this goes. This is hands down a must listen and support by copping it on Beatport!

Want in on a little secret that I hardly ever get around to sharing? Easiest way to find some new slappers is to go through a music mix, my favorite being Soulection Radio’s Show they do pretty often featuring new Artist’s and new songs on the regular. I haven’t taken the chance to listen to the whole thing yet but I’ve gotten pretty deep in and this definitely is a great one to start off with. 19 year old Swiss producer Sebastian Carter never disappoints when it comes to shedding light on unknown talent by releasing remixes that intensify vibes and emotions from the original. “Ghosts” by Emily Underhill received that same treatment, and the bass is what’s going to keep you warm in these sub-zero temperatures. The Peachy Playlisters are back yet again, this time to ring in the new year with the most thugged-out, racked-up mix you have ever heard. Filled to the brim with 42 certified bangers, this playlist is great for the car, the hood, the kitchen, etc.
If you are a fan of: Travi$ Scott, A$AP Ferg, Meek Mill or Kendrick Lamar chances are that you will be a fan of this playlist. 2013 came to an end with a lot of great music being produced in the second half of the year, where most of my focus was with a lot of my tracks for the list. Being the very indecisive person I am, I decided to create more of a playlist of downloadable/non-downloadable tracks. With a wide variety of tracks in the playlist, I think it covers some of the brightest up and coming stars in each respective genre mixed with Portugal. The Man, who’s Evil Friends album was my personal choice of best album of the year. Besides the indie/alternative band, my focus for my list was with the two Chicago rappers that I have watched blow up over the past year in Chance the Rapper and Vic Mensa. Besides the two young SaveMoney stars, I began dabbling with the new and bountiful amounts of Australian producers making a name for themselves, with Flume at the forefront of that. A hard to describe genre that combines so many different complex and interesting sounds that mesh together beautifully is pretty much my best attempt at describing it. Wave Racer has to take my favorite artist of 2013 with almost every single one of his remixes and original productions getting constant playtime on my iTunes. Be on the lookout for a new What’s in Dshaq’s tape deck soon. Cheers to 2013 and hope everyone has a great 2014.
