Drum & Bass | DnB Fridays

Posted by on April 13, 2012

Noisia’s video of there track Could This Be is an interesting video that caught my attention this week when they released it. The video goes along with the track well and had me starring at it and replaying it a few times. Seven Lion’s is known for there beautiful melodic dubstep originals and remixes, but Smooth remixed this amazing track to perfection. This DnB remix off of Seven Lions upcoming EP by Smooth takes the melodic orignal and adds those heavy kicks and drums we all love to hear, while keeping the amazing melody and vocals intact.

Electro-House, Progressive House | Chicane – What Am I Doing Here? (Part 1) (Aylen Remix)

Posted by on April 12, 2012

Rising star Aylen has yet again out done himself on this remix, but this time it is a Progressive/Electro House remix. Steering away from his usual Moombah fuzed style, the driving bass and appealing female vocals in this track put the listener in a state of euphoria. With great piano progressions through the track leading into his first progressive house style drop you are left with no choice but wanting to dance. Slowly toning it back down after the first phase and then gradually building the track back up using the vocals and a combination of amazing synth chords we get hit with a tasteful electro drop that would send any crowd going nuts. The is definitely one we are going to be seeing at the festivals this summer.

Progressive House | Thomas Gold – Sing2Me

Posted by on March 26, 2012

After being first previewed by Axwell on the first edition of Swedish House Mafia’s BBC Radio One Takeover back in September, “Sing2Me” from the German master Thomas Gold has been one of the most wanted tracks in the realm of house. The vocal bit moves perfectly with the melody created by the impeccable piano work. The alternating bass line tops this whole thing off creating a sense of pure euphoria. I don’t know about you but I think there should be a “Pete Tong Welcome to the Weekend Mix” because it just does not sound right without that shout in there. Also have you noticed the releases on Axtone this year, “In My Mind“, “Quasar“, “Trio” and now “Sing2Me”, this label is putting out only anthems. I can’t wait to see what else is in store for Axtone with Henrik B ft Rudy “Leave A Light On” and more coming, their dominance should prevail through 2012. You can also get a free “Sing2Me” ringtone from Axtone’s Facebook page to replace your old “By Me a Drink” or “Sexyback” or whatever the kids are using these days for ringtones. Be hip and get a cool EDM ringtone for free from Axtone.

Progressive House, Trance | Cosmic Gate Remixes

Posted by on March 23, 2012

First up is Cosmic Gate’s massive remix of Emma Hewitt’s single “Colours”. The single was already given remix treatment by the legend Armin van Buuren, the German trance duo gives it a go with this incredible uplifting, energetic remix, utilizing Emma Hewitt’s stunning vocals to perfection as only they would know coming off of their smash single “Be Your Sound” together.

Somewhat lost in the fact in the release of Cosmic Gate’s remix of “Colours” was the fact that they also released their remix of “Wild & Perfect Day”. They make this track a little more trancey, taking out much of the uplifting synth and piano melody and replacing with a harder trance melody that works just as well. The catchy vocals remain and the bass line becomes a bit more developed.

After jump I included another Cegor remix, which is a great smooth progressive track with a quality piano lead and an uplifiting synth melody.

Progressive House | Daleri – Eavesdrop (Club Edit)

Posted by on March 20, 2012

Daleri is a Swedish house trio consisting of three producers Eric Kvarnström, Robert Kanat and Andreas Viklund. This track is quite the gem with its slow piano build that crescendos into a bass driven break with pulsing synths that form a complex melody of layered synths. This freebee is not one to be missed with its creative sound and upbeat style.

Progressive House | Michael Brun – Rise (Dirty South Edit)

Posted by on March 19, 2012

The day has arrived for Michael Brun “Rise” with a small edit from Dirty South to be released on Dirty South’s Phazing Records. As you saw with the preview, this track was going to be huge and the full version delivers. The driving bass line with varying percussive elements gives way to a easy piano motif and uplifting synth chords that create melody that will force your hands to “Rise” (see what I did there?) into the air. After the jump check out the first episode of Dirty South’s “Phazing Radio” that includes this rip below and many more new and unreleased tracks.

Dubstep | Culprate & Deadpool

Posted by on March 1, 2012

Culprate’s Tentacle VIP and Deadpool’s remix of Prepare To Die are best described as Fire and Ice; polar opposites of each other. Culprate’s VIP is a nice melodic dubstep work of art. The intro builds up with a nice piano sounding synth into an almost jazz/blues sounding drop where the snares and drums pick up the pace. A true melodic masterpiece from Culprate. Now we move to the other side of the spectrum, which in this case is Deadpool’s remix of Bare Noize’s Prepare To Die. The best way to describe this track is to “Insert UKF filth comment here”. Caution: the drop will melt your subs.
