Progressive House | Arty – Together We Are (Remixes)
Posted by Middy on March 18, 2013
With the original mix finally getting its release last month, Arty tabs some some hot in demand up and comers to remix his colossal single. Audien switches up the reverbed piano for a more synth laden approach, not straying too much from the melodic structure of the original and adding his own spin on the track. Norwegians, Carl Louis & Martin Danielle continue to display their strong progressive talents with this remix, adding their own synth line to the track, making it their own. Coming off of their epic 6 track “Metropolis Pt. II” EP, The M Machine provide a very different style of remix that you can only expect from them with a jarring low end, while still remaining true to the melody of the original.
For you purists out there, the instrumental mix is also included in this batch of remixes. Coming up next for Arty is the release of “Grand Final” on Ministry of Sound this April or May and also hopefully sometime soon the original mix of “When I See You” because Alesso butchered that track.
Hip-Hop, Preview | ROKAMOUTH – Godmind (Ft. Ak of The Underachievers)

Ill tune from Rokamouth, fresh from Pro Era. Rokamouth starts out flawlessly, the beat he created flowed great with the touch of piano to it. After a long Friday night, this is just what the doctor ordered before my transition into Saturday night festivities.
Electro | Bixel Boys – Love Like This (Viceroy Remix)
Posted by Middy on March 9, 2013
It is getting warm out, so that means sundresses, sunglasses, shorts, spring break, patio drinks and of course Viceroy remixes. His remixes epitomize the summertime all the time mentality, and this one is no different. Taking full advantage of the funky groove of the original and the vocals from the Bixel Boys, Viceroy adds a smooth piano melody and his signature island flare that makes this a must add to your outdoor, spring / summer playlist. After the jump check out two recent remixes from Viceroy, one an official remix of Two Door Cinema Club’s “Sun” and another of Montell Jordan’s “This Is How We Do”, which Montell supported.

Progressive House | DubVision – Redux
Posted by Middy on March 8, 2013
Dutch duo DubVision continue their hot string of releases coming off of their “Summertime” remix and of course their still potent “Committed to Sparkle Motion” remix and now put out their first single of the year on Spinnin Records, “Redux”. The track does not stray from the winning formula DubVision have created for themselves with a beautiful melody, grand, echoing piano and a driving, rolling bass line that all comes together in a track that should be played in a large warehouse or on a festival stage. This big room monster has already found its way into the sets of most of the top Djs, so you can expect to hear it early and often echoing around the Megastructures at Ultra.

Progressive House | Paris Blohm – Fire In The Sun (Feat Ilsey Juber)

It was only last week when Paris Blohm released “You Were Here” and he has already dropped another track. He has dusted off an old production and decided to give it away in celebration of hitting 10k likes on Facebook. Unlike his previous release, “Fire In The Sun” goes in a darker direction. The vocals are carried by a heavy pad and a staggered piano before climaxing into huge drop packed with punchy synths. This track is big.

Electro-House | Armin van Buuren & W&W – D# Fat
Posted by Spice on February 25, 2013
First things first: Armin van Buuren might have a production credit on “D# Fat,” but it ain’t trance. Nope, this collaboration with Dutch powerhouses W&W is electro to the core; in fact, it takes a leaf out of the book of “The Code” (another W&W special) and delivers a pounding bassline and hard-hitting, crunchy synth leads. Don’t let the piano riffs at the beginning fool you — this track packs a massive wallop and is sure to get dance floors moving as we head into the WMC home stretch. In all, “D# Fat” is a reflection of the next wave of progressive and electro house — it combines the best elements of both genres to great effect.

Progressive House | First State feat. Sarah Howells – Seeing Stars

Dutch producer Sander van Dien, also known as First State, is a new name to me, but did he ever make a good first impression. “Seeing Stars” is the debut single off his upcoming album and it’s a good one. Sarah Howells provides superb vocals that are accompanied by beautiful piano work and atmospheric strings, leading to a build up composed of outstanding arps and claps and then climaxing into an uplifting drop. You won’t see me posting many Beatport tracks, but this one is too good not to share.
