In the midst of the Hounds Of Hell tour with Wolfgang Gartner, Tommy Trash has unleashed a rare free download for his fans. As you may remember, EDC Las Vegas 2012 had some wind issues that forced the festival to be shut down, (E Zoo will be fine), and Tommy is expressing his displeasure with how nature took control of events. The track has hints of the vintage Tommy Trash sound, while offering something new from himself, a refreshing change of pace for the Australian’s discography. You’re going to have to excuse me because once again, here is a Slumberjack post. They are cranking out amazing tunes at a crazy fast pace. The talent in these Australian boys is evident. This remix of “Paper Dreams” by The Lazy Calm is a mid-pace trap song that still has a laid back vibe. Expect to hear some speaker shaking bass and some eerie vocal chops that make the song stick in your head all day long. Be sure to grab this one for free!

Yinyues remix of 50 Cent’s “21 Questions ft. Nate Dogg” is really something different. Yinyues is normally a trap producer, so this was a cool change of pace. This remix is super chill and Yinyues made sure not to take away from the vocals of this classic track. “21 Questions” is great on it’s own, but this version will definitely have you bopping your head along with it.

It’s no surprise that the majority of present-day emcees have begun veering towards the strategy of “quantity” as a means of getting noticed. They release new projects at an expeditious rate, more concerned with their name remaining in the headlines then they are with producing work of the highest quality. Rarely do I find an artist who is able to effectively bridge this as well as Yonkers-based emcee Maxxx Flair. Though he creates at a brisk pace, the sound is never compromised. Cue his new project, Wake Up, due this spring, and a new single that he’s sent our way, entitled “New York City Raised Me.” Back with frequent collaborator Snake-Eyes, a Brooklyn-based producer and engineer, we can expect the same level of prowess and lyrical ability on this new tape as we’ve become accustomed to from Maxxx, as is well evidenced by this old-school-style record. My favorite and your’s, Jetpack Jones, hits us with ANOTHER free mixtape. Jetpack is one of my favorite rappers out right now, because his music puts you in a different mindset than most of the stuff you hear on Worldstar or something. Don’t get me wrong, I like gangster rap as much as the next blogger, but sometimes I need a change of pace. Jetpack Jones is that change of pace. His latest mixtape features terrific bars from the Lakewood native, paired with beats fitting his creative rapping style. The tape is hosted by DJ Charisma, so you know it’s good.
