Spinnin’ Records is having a big summer. So are the UK’s Higher Self, as they’ve just announced that “Ghosts” featuring Lauren Mason is set to release October 20th on the house that Oliver Heldens built. Speaking of Oliver Heldens, “Ghosts” was previewed on “Heldeep Radio 14” and The Magician’s “ The Magic Tape 45 ” which is no small accomplishment. Call it Nu-Bass. Call it Future House. Call it what you want. “Ghosts” from Higher Self and Lauren Mason is a prepped to be a certified smash.

Fans of these two have been waiting quite some time for this one. It seems like everyone wants a piece of the Oliver Heldens brand of “future house” and he is eager to dish it out, with very little changed. It is one thing to find a signature sound, which is incredibly difficult to do unto itself, but to be able to evolve within that and expand creatively is one of the marks of a great producer. “THIS” sounds an awful like “Gecko” and you can hear some influence of Sander van Doorn, but not much. The tune comes out October 6th and will probably be another Beatport chart topping hit.

Following the Oliver Heldens add a vocal edit to a already fantastic instrumental model, Shadow Child and Doorly enlist an unknown vocalist to lay down a sultry topline that destined for radio. Premiered on Annie Mac’s Radio 1, the new vocal version was co-written by the very talented MNEK, who you’re all familiar with. “Climbin'” releases November via Polydor Records, and is available for pre-order on iTunes here. We can’t wait for the release. Top tune. There’s no question about it. Keep on flying.

I’m hard on Oliver Heldens. It’s because I like him. I hold him to a higher standard than most. This track, man. This track is a real serious tune. Borrowing largely from the original, Oliver and Gregor Salto breathe new life into a classic. I think I can safely posit that the summer was Oliver Heldens. “Can’t Stop Playing” out August 29th on Spinnin’ Records. Future house is the new religion.
