Hip-Hop, Mixtapes | Game – “Purp and Patron: The Hangover” | HIP-HOP

Posted by on February 1, 2011

The Game wasted no time to drop a follow up mixtape to “Purp and Patron”. This latest one is aptly titled “The Hangover” and is filled with more bass bumping tracks that feature a number of established artists like Busta Rhymes, Timbaland, Ghostface, and Kurupt. I’ve posted two cuts off the tape below, including one that proves Timbaland is still armed with the skills that he seemingly refuses to utilize on his “Timbaland Thursday” projects. Download the full project off Datpiff here.

Electro, Hip-Hop | Brenton Duvall – Pretty Little Penthouse (Tayyib Ali)

Posted by on January 20, 2011

Is Brenton Duvall everywhere or is he everywhere? Seriously, he’s been hustling hard these past few months and it’s starting to seriously pay off. I’ve seen a number of up and coming artists hop on his beats and word on the street is he has some more collabs coming up with the likes of Hoodie Allen. In this latest project, Tayyib Ali flows over a smooth Brent beat that features a sample of Michael Jackson’s track, “PYT (Pretty Young Thang)”. I’m digging it so down it.

Hip-Hop | Hip Hop Update

WTF, is this real life? A 5 foot 8 high school student with braces dunks on a 6 foot 8 defender! Don’t waste your time trying to find this kids jet boosters because I spent 30 minutes doing just that. I need more info on this kid. In other news, Suge Knight’s storage unit was auctioned off on A&E’s “Storage Wars”. That’s humiliating. Full article can be found at HipHopWired:

As previously reported, the Death Row Records head had a number of his items sold at auction in February by the owner of ‘Conejo Valley Moving & Storage’ who said he owed him money.
Similarly, Knight’s items were seen being sold on the premier of A&E’s “Storage Wars.”
The auction was said to be successful making $4,500 dollars in 30 minutes off Suge’s property including furniture, clothing, appliances and gym equipment.

Bishop Lamont – I Dominate (Feat. Dr. Dre)

Lloyd Banks – Start It Up (UK Remix) (Feat. Sway, Giggs, Kanye West, Swizz Beatz, Ryan Leslie)

Albums, Events, Hip-Hop | Wiz Khalifa Arrested

Posted by on November 10, 2010

I don’t think there’s been an easier arrest in the history of drug busts than the one pulled on Wiz Khalifa after his East Carolina show. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m a HUGE Khalifa fan (unlike “A” who didnt like Black and Yellow), but Wiz sort of deserved this. I mean Khalifa released a mixtape over the summer entitled “Kush & Orange Juice”, then embarked on a college wide tour this fall called the “Waken Baken Tour,” and then also admitted to buying $10k worth of pot every month in his Rock The Bells interview. It was just too easy. Unfortunately, the Feds really did a number on Khalifas lazy lavish lifestyle by slapping him with a $300k bail which he covered along with the other bails for his 9 person entourage. However, he’s facing some serious felony charges including trafficking drugs between state borders and dealing.

Here are a few of my favorite tracks in honor of this young gun… (all of these are must download tracks)

Wiz Khalifa – Black & Yellow f. J.A.E

Wiz Khalifa – Never Been

Wiz Khalifa – The Thrill (Walking On a Dream)

Wiz Khalifa – This Plane

Wiz Khalifa – Were Done (Prod By Kajmir Royale)

Dubstep, Electro | Fresh New Tracks Apparel Update…

Posted by on October 11, 2010

Ladies and Gentlemen…it’s that time again.  Fresh New Tracks went ahead and doubled the number of tanks we ordered, added two new colors (one shown above), and even added a new slogan on the back for those who live by the FNT lifestyle…”Dark Days Bright Nights”. Due to a number of complaints were making an announcement now that the tank tops will go live for sale wednesday at 11am (Pacific Standard Time).   Were having a contest as to whoever can guess the closest to how long it takes us to sell out of them, last time it was 8 hours.  Winner gets a free hat…place your bets in the comment section! Oh and here’s some new Deadmau5.

Mixtapes | Featured Mixtape: Girls and Headphones

Posted by on October 9, 2010

I wanted to take this opportunity to highlight our featured mixtape “Girls and Headphones” which was compiled by OnTrak Entertainment. I have been having a tough time coming up with a succinct explanation for this project, because this compilation really allows the listener to travel through a number of different genres. The majority of the tracks feature clean vocals over a progressive RnB vibe, but the production team has thrown in a number of unique tracks influenced by country, reggae, and hip-hop.

Here are some highlights that attempt to present this diversity, and if you are digging these grab the whole mixtape here

Rhythm HB ft. Quise – Dream Love

Kharakter ft. Niko – Without Me

Kharakter – For You
